I’d like to know how, beyond urging people to invest in what currently is a baseless Wild West market.

Again - the system won’t die unless it’s a necessary requirement to continue the status quo. You constantly refer to 2008 but that event in and of itself should have made you realise that fact.

It literally does not matter how much debt is accrued, how many times markets fail, as long as there is always a will to bend or invent new rules and reasons to keep it all going.

Even if it is allowed to perish - there will be something else ready made to take its place, to maintain the power, wealth and influence.

Financial socialism is a fantasy.

Haha. Gets testy when tested, then swerves debate. Careful with the insults - as inconsistent as the card system is round here that is a rather juicy yellow right there.

Again, the point you make proves my statement, rather than its stupidity. I’m also yet to understand how you are helping anyone, which always seems to be the way you choose to reply to those that challenge.

Reply to the points being made (not just by me, I might add)

For you, it’s a belief system. Objectivity and rational thought went out the window a long time ago.

Why do I always feel the need to counterbalance? Because as adorably naive as your ‘advice’ is, to the average Layperson it also has the very real danger of being extremely damaging, especially the way opinion is put across as fact.

On that point I’m still yet to read any well constructed reasoning / factual basis behind any of your beliefs.

The only time I read about Bit coin, or any other crypto, is when someone is being talked about as making loads of money (real money) from buying/selling crypto.
I don't think I've ever heard someone say they have loads of crypto that they will be keeping to spend when it (if) it becomes the go to currency.
TUX I do appreciate that you are passionate about Bit coin, but if if massively jumped in price would you sell yours for real money?
I really am interested, and not taking sides, as I don't really understand how crypto works/will work.

Fair dues, but more to do with celebrating 'Happy Dow Jones Day' the other evening rather than 'swerving'.
We both keep regurgitating the same old arguments so best let history decide a winner.

All the best.

Which begs another question.
How will they be valued for inheritance tax by HMRC?
One day could be worth £x next day...?

We'll have to wait and see i guess but no doubt new laws/ammendments will happen due to the adoption (people buying cryptos) continuing to increase, so more countries/govts are taking this space seriously. Is Bitcoin a commodity or is it a currency? Time will tell.
As for price, this will stabilise in time through market forces and not through the deliberate manipulation that we're currently witnessing.

Spin the situation on it's head:
If we currently had a digital system that has never been hacked, worked quickly, cheaply, where every trade could be tracked/verified by many thousands around the globe and then someone came along with a 'new' (the current) system that transacted slower, cost more, could be tracked/verified by only a few, that lost value everytime more of the currency was artificially pumped into the system and was easily manipulated/laundered by those who 'owned' the currency, then which would you choose?

Fighting the financial elites is a huge fight. They don't want to give up the advantage that they've had for decades now (why would they?) but their system is now dead, as we're witnessing.

Bitcoin isn't going away.
It's only getting stronger.

Off to Portugal for a week to get a good lungful of germs.
Take care, speak soon (HOPEFULLY!)

SAGTTB.

As a matter of interest the card system is as consistent or otherwise as anything is that relies on human intervention as there are cases where the mods can't agree amongst themselves whether something is worthy of a card or not.

The second point that I would make is that moderating is often reactionary rather than proactive and we frequently rely on readers reporting offensive threads as happened in this case.

Personally I have no interest in Bitcoins so haven't bothered to read this thread assuming that it's not the sort of subject that would get people all fired up

Had two days of tanning but it rained for four days. Not a great ratio tbf but equally not unexpected at this time of year.
