We have George W. Bush, who lied about the reasons for going to war, caused untold numbers of Iraqi deaths and thousands of American deaths. He is hardly vilified for this compared with the stuff being thrown at Trump after only four weeks in office. Apart from saying some pretty stupid things, has he killed anyone?

We have now sunk to a depth at which the restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men. [Orwell]

Of course there were no similar events like this under Obama.

Of course. It's all Trump's fault.

The liberals are pathetic and it's a wonderful convenience for the world media that there is always a fall guy for a good headline.

It's like the 'two minutes hate' against Goldstein in Orwell's 1984, only it goes on constantly.

For a long while now the DJIA has been artificially inflated thanks to the funny-money that is QE, therefore it's hardly an honest indicator of the economy.
The 'real' US economy is doing badly, as we shall soon witness.

You and mezzer keep warning of Financial Armageddon just around the corner.... or just a brief bear market.

Are you both in cash/gold at the moment?

It won't be a brief bear market, it'll be a full-on downturn imo.
And yes, i own gold/silver and leave as little cash in the bank as is necessary.
It's an insurance policy tbh (but the fact that both have risen since i started buying is a nice bonus).

I am mostly influenced by Peter Hargreaves (of Hargreaves Lansdown) on market moves.

He's been there done it and got the T shirt.

When he tells me to 'cash out' I'll listen.

Till then I'll continue to see good growth and income in my portfolio of funds (a lot of them are HL multi manager funds).

I'm sure he knows more than i'll ever know. Here's to things working out well for both of us
