I don't want to get involved in your spat with SD.As a general principle, I hope we'd all try and stay away from sidebar spats and in my humble opinion, there are some much worse offenders for getting into sidebar spats than either of you But, NATO in former Yugo was re an external threat.Were Bosnia or Serbia or Kosovo NATO member "states" ? I think not, Well, you just did. How was the Bosnia war an external threat to NATO? Did it attack or threaten to attack a NATO country?

I'm a bit busy.....but... A silly part of me would like to go..... Just to go against type...Go in full on leftie and wear shades and a Che Guevara t-shirt.... mix with the inevitable anti semitic pseudo intellectuals and apologists and listen to them justify stuff as they vent along the 'I hate Israel more' scale.....Could be fun to shout some silly slogans. But it isn't a laughing matter so no...It's awful...So I'll just hope they get this seven day ceasefire off the ground. I'll be thinking of you in those shades Nick.

The people demonstrating will not be hating Israel per-se, but protesting against the actions of the Jewish government.

Just can't leave it be can you legal? Bosnia was not an external threat to any NATO country. No NATO country requested any help along a military threat basis. NATO responded to a UN request. SD made the mistake in defining NATO's remit so narrowly. The old cold war remit has long gone. The reality is that NATO now covers many issues from terrorism and peace keeping activities. It isn't just for external threats.
