His TV after match interview was telling.

He looked bewildered, congratulated Newcastle and sort of shrugged his shoulders and said we (not he) will have to get it sorted.

Hardly giving us any confidence and at this rate West Brom will be weloming us with open arms next week.

I think he should do the decent thing and go. Any successor, whoever, must be able to get more out of his squad and work out better tactics than he seems able to.

When we hadn't won a game for about a year it took me absolutely ages to turn on Pardew.

Every week I'd turn up and watch us hit the post, miss easy 1 on 1's and make calamitous individual mistakes to lose games. Week after week. I could not begin to blame Pardew when in front of my own eyes I was watching professional football players either miss chances or make defensive howlers. Out of complete confusion at our form I started to think it's irrelevant who the manager is, these blokes are professional footballers, why does it matter what the manager is saying, you're either going to take that easy 1 on 1 or you're not (like Wilson did tonight).

A charge towards the top ten or Europe would be lovely but it's not about that, it's about it being unacceptable to come away from a game with this feeling. The feeling that I could have done better rolling that ball across to Batshuayi or I could have done better making that clearance against Burnley or I could have done better realising it might be worth giving Big Ben a start tonight. And being absolutely blind livid because now the weekends fuc*ed as this week already was and so will next week be until we get another go.

There comes a point where the penny drops and you realise either we're a complete shower of sh*t or we haven't got the right brain on the sideline and I'm pretty confident we're far from a shower.

nothing will change until Parish accepts we have gone as far we can with an aged squad with withering talent and a manager whose only remit is to keep us in the premiership and the supporters deserve a fresh remit

Great post, sums up my feelings.

By all means call out Roy but also don't let off the players if they continually balls up simple stuff.

There are really tough games over December. Another 6-7 losing run looks a reality.

If Roy can avoid that and get some points he'll regain my respect. But I think we're heading south.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

Tonight reminded me of our lower championship days when I was just hoping for a corner or a free- kick. Newcastle we’re awful too and if we hadn’t have made any subs would have been 0-0. However like everyone else I’m screaming for a change, but then we bring on Benteke and take off Townsend the only player in the squad that can cross a ball (sometimes). It’s a squad on the way down as we know but Mcarthur, Dann and Cahill have just fallen off a Cliffe all quality players but are finished. Only positives are Eze and I think Clyne has made a slight improvement at right back although goals conceded don’t back that up. I also think the their keeper saves one of them goals tonight that Guita let’s on. Strange times, points total is fine but football and general atmosphere is as bad as it’s been since we’ve been in the premier league. TBF before the game they showed the 5-1 win against geordies under Pardew and I hate to say it but I miss them days of having a go even with niece defending. Now we seem to do neither. If Royball doesn’t get a point much like Pulis it’s a wasted day for everyone. Amazingly there’s worst teams in the league and a Wilf that isn’t half the player he once was seems to inspire the whole squad somehow so we will hopefully scrape another year in the best league in the world ( really have you watched our last 2 games opposition included fkin Sunday league ha,ha) has to been time to roll the dice in the summer and I honestly would rather be in the championship and wanting to watch a game, than not enjoying any games in real time apart from the result occasionally when we’ve parked the bus and won against the odds. I don’t even enjoy our wins if that makes sense. We’ve deserved to win at Man Utd this season every other win I think we’ve been lucky. That said tonight we were slightly unlucky in an awful game. God knows im confusing myself! Up the palace..//

All well and good, and I'm leaning towards this – if we lose to west brom he is in trouble...

But ultimately, who the hell do we actually want to replace him? And I mean realistically here, not fantasy league. Further, who wants to come here that we would be happy with? It's not an easy one. It's easy to sack someone but you've also got to think about properly replacing him.

I think we will stay up mid table with him in charge – which perhaps for this chaotic period is the best end game, but the club need to start thinking now about close season and getting someone new in for 21/22.

Keep us going, mid table finish, done his job then get someone new in, in time for fans back in the stadium and a fresh start.

Certainly not Eddie Howe for me although he's currently out of work.
If I was on the board I'd be pushing for Steven Gerrard to join us at the start of next season (assuming we stay up)now I know he divides opinion but the guys a winner.
I'd sign up to a 2/3 year contract with a get out clause if the Liverpool job became vacant.

Oh to be a palace fan hey? What a time it is! I have been taking to my mates and my old man tonight, lots of different opinions, Roy in, Roy out, Roy on a hog roast , Roy needing a statue , to be honest , I was absolutely Roy in before tonight but one of my old mans messages made me think I’m going to copy and paste it, it made me laugh , hopefully it will you kit aswell and cheer everyone up.

P.S WE ARE PALACE AND WILL ALWAYS COME OUT IF ANY SH1THOLE WE HAVE EVER BEEN IN, HAVE FAITH

(Copy and paste from my dads message)

It’s not really been going consistently from last season when we lost all them match’s on the run in and i can see it ending badly if he doesn’t leave soon. I honestly don’t know how he does it, because I’m nearly 66 and I’m overweight and unwell and I couldn’t get up every morning and take training, talks, man management, responsibility of the team playing well, interviews with press, he’s got to have problems just remembering stuff at his age, i do,, f*** that,, thanks Roy and well done 👍, but give it a rest now eh.
