Interesting article with many of the anti Tory Government quotes coming from "an ex Tory Minister." Could it be sour grapes from someone that Boris didn't want in his ministerial team. I think that most of us who voted for Boris did so on the basis that he would make a good chairman of the board knowing that he wasn't really a suitable managing director whose role encompasses more of the I dotting and T crossing.
Of course the Left wing media will stoke it up like the desperate jackals they are.

The unfortunate issue is that so much of it is true! There was also a similar piece in the Times by Matthew Parris yesterday. It feels like a Trump "lite" approach to Government - utter incompetence in dealing with anything half serious. A lot of people completely out of their depth - including Boris for sure. As the article said, his behaviour is exactly like the time he spent as a journalist, Mayor and as Foreign Sec. I wonder how long he will last - maybe resign on health grounds?

According to informed sources in the media the ERG had the votes to sack Mrs May err no they didn't have anywhere near the numbers it was wishful thinking on their part and their friends in the media. I think the same goes for now. Maybe that will change but as you say anyone attempting a coup will be seen as disloyal which is unforgivable in the Tory party. Edited by Badger11 (10 May 2020 2.15pm)

I'm sorry but all I'm seeing is all the Lefties and their media friends desperately trying to pin something on the government after a succession of humiliating defeats at the ballot box. It's just a lot of sour grapes political twaddle of the kind we experienced over Brexit.

I have to say, its now how I see it. These are decisions taken by the UK Govt and affecting us all. For example, I see we are now planning to insist anyone flying into the UK goes into two weeks quarantine - why on earth was that not done in February when this situation started? In fact, as I experienced myself having returned from Asia, there were no checks of any description - people came and went as they pleased. No wonder the virus spread. So far as Brexit is concerned, the easy part was leaving which happened when Boris made concessions that his predecessor described as "no PM could possibly agree to". Now is the hard, and much more significant part, re future trade and the status of NI. Little sign of any coherent UK approach and lots of attempted back peddling re NI is how I see it.

The isolation from flights is going to be to prevent the 2nd wave coming from abroad or at least to have some control. Home Bourne cases will hopefully be somewhat under control by the end of the month. In any situation it isnt recommended to play your joker on the first hand. As for brexit hard ball is the only way to play it. Everyone is going to feel battered by the end of this so compromise will happen to benefit both us and the EU. That aside the rest of the world will be needing to flog some gear. (not like gear in the teenage sense).

Swap Priti for Maggie and maybe Matt Hancock for Jim Callaghan cos he does have a pair of absolute beauties does Matt.
