Good post. We must be the only club that is proposing that you can choose where to sit on the basis of how loud you sing and how many banners you wave. All this "famous atmosphere" stuff is nonsense, its in our fans imagination.

I completely get your point, but let's look at this another way. What if you have had that seat for 20+ years, surely you can be grateful for having great views for all those years and now give someone else a chance at the seat?

You have completely undermined your position with this statement. The fact is the club didn't ask the 17,000 they decided on the basis of a flawed survey, a vociferous group who boycotted the club and possibly others who contacted club. The club should have asked all season ticket holders as then they would have had a mandate to enact the outcome. You are right that not everyone is against the idea, however we have no idea if that is a majority. My gut feel is that if the club had initially asked about a singing section they would have got a positive response. However if they were to ask now they would find many have changed their view. The only way the club and its owners can get back any credibility is to have the survey now based on the plans they have put forward. If it is in favour of the plans then Block E season ticket holders can be moved as it has the majority of the supporters support if not the club should abandon the move.

I'm sorry but how can anyone deny that the support at Selhurst has been deluded? Whilst it has gotten worse in recent years it was significantly better than most other premiership grounds.

No. The club is creating a singing section. The club are making a change to quadruple (???) the amount of singers, hoping it will have a knock on effect to the rest of the stand. Its a progressive change, it's a new initiative. People are having to move and lets all hope they get looked after, I know I wouldn't be happy of course, but in big changes people will be affected. If it is in favour of the plans then Block E season ticket holders can be moved as it has the majority of the supporters support if not the club should abandon the move. I haven’t undermined my position because I said a while ago when the HF mock brochure came out the club handled it appallingly and should’ve surveyed everyone instead of losing it because they got a few letters or tweets from fans in E block. I agree if they did ask in the first place they would’ve got a positive response. When the mock up brochure came out the response was more positive than after the rumours and twitter outrage. The reason people aren’t as thrilled with the idea now is that it’s just 400 being dropped in between hundreds of silent or quiet sitters or standers when what they should be doing is resetting the whole tier, but the club can’t be bothered, or think they’re upsetting fewer fans by dropping 400 in, only they’re probably upsetting or disillusioning more. Read the club statement claiming it can’t be done, only it can. I think the E400 would probably prefer a reset rather than the Arfur, plus it gives them a feeling of being more equal rather than the fall guys. I hope this clarifies things with me looking at it more laterally. Something the club refuse to do, but I’m not surprised.
