We earn a ridiculous amount in ticket prices, stuff in the clubshop, sky money, staying up in the Premier League etc etc. Steve Parish is pulling the wool over some of the less intelligent fans of our club and making it look like we need to sell our best assets. That couldnt be further from the truth. We haven't been as well off as we are now. We can afford to keep Zaha forever (if we wanted to) but we need to stay up. The way we push on and stay up is to start splashing the cash a bit. Bring in good quality players and build a team around our very own local lad who loves the club Wilfried Zaha. The guy is quality. Every season we finish higher we receive more money. We need to be pushing ourselves forward to win the FA Cup, get into the Europa cup or champions league. We are not the little Palace that struggled in the championship and needed to sell players. We are a big London club that needs to be pushing on and showing our potential. It's getting boring now all the people that truly believe we have no money and have to sell to buy. What a load of old b*locks. The American investors came in and promised to pay for the new stadium transformation. We have got money for players but Steve isn't using it unless it's for fine wine and holidays. You’re in denial son.

to be fair, mauro in the standard has just toned down his coverage. 4 days ago, under his byline: wz has rocked cp after indicating he wants to leave. (headline 'wz asks to leave') today he says wz hasn't handed in a transfer request (but still wants to go). I no longer think he's asked to leave, but reckon he'd like to. i thought other relatively reputable media reported a transfer request, but on looking again I can't find that they did. so I was wrong and apologise. Hooray. And I think a lot of people in life would like to improve their situation. There has to be a job offer though and one the owner of your contract will accept and in Wilf’s case he won’t throw a strop because of who he is and if he did he knows the reaction.

Alternatively not sell him at all, then we won’t have to worry, what to do with the money. It's a nice thought but not all that realistic. Better to have a real plan in place.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle This post has been merged from a topic called 'Sell Wilf?' by Penge Eagle The other issue if we sell wilf is I have heard from few people United get fairly large % of the transfer it was part of the deal when they sold him back cheaply. so people thinking we get 70m when it could end up being say 40-50m. I wouldn't trust Parish to even put all that much back in anyway and we would go for bunch of players that are like 10-15m

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Hmmm, the press yet again goes full circle and this is how it seems to go in relation to Wilf: 1) "x" club are desperate to buy Wilf Therefore an entire story has been created by the press with a beginning, a middle and an end all of which is entirely fiction and all created for the purpose of clickbait. If they had never written any of the articles we would be in entirely the same position we are now! The truth behind all of this is there was never any offers put in, there has been no request for a transfer and all along the Club, the Manager and the player himself has said he is not leaving. 40 pages of wasted comment on this board with more trolling about Wilf leaving than I would care to read on another clubs board, let alone this one. If a massive bid is made we will hear about it soon enough and a decision will be made then and only then and it is in the clubs hands as to whether they accept it or not. I don't want to see him go, never have, never will as he is the most exciting player I have ever seen in a Palace shirt. Unfortunately there seems to be a hardcore on here happy to stir things up and appear to take delight in anything negative written about Wilf's stay at the club. Whinge over, last I say on this until either the season starts or we get a massive bid on the table.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle That was quite funny, Eaglecoops. I’d add Wilf might like to leave if a big club came in but they haven’t, apart from Spurs and their usual derisory insults for bids.

I very clearly remember working with a Boro fan in 2006 and he thought they should be pushing for the last step, and complained of lack of spending and ambition. Those days they were well ahead from where we are now and look at them now. Find yourself some older Villa, Blackburn, Leeds fans to chat to and maybe you will change your views to be a bit more realistic. The fact that you mention "stuff in the clubshop" as income source makes me wonder if you have any idea of finances tbh.
