MOD warning - Personal abuse - I don't think this is sufficient for a yellow, given the context though - but please avoid directly commenting like this.

Fair enough.....I was miffed and went too far.

It's hard to disagree.

Agreed with everything he said, should be the leader of Ukip.

Interesting. Very articulate. One of Farage's acolytes and with Muslim parents. Good to listen to though he is rather missing the point about Trump on purpose and he does work for naughty agenda-driven Breitbart, which isn't good if he is wanting to portray himself as an objective and rational speaker.

All news is agenda driven.

By which news stories they choose to make prominent in comparison to other news outlets and their analysis upon them.

That's a bit like asking how do I know the Mirror have a different agenda to the Mail.

That is not necessarily agenda driven though unless the channel/paper is blatantly and proudly ultra-conservative or ultra-left.

Newsnight, for example, always gives voice to both sides in debate. Sure it choose the stories to present via the editor but that is their job.

Maybe too much cynicism on your part??

They all have agendas, some are just less blatant than others. Newsnight is no different.....the other night I watched the presenter suggest to me how I should regard and react to Trump's tweets...none of what he said I would agree with or came from anything like a side I could identify with......blimey, 'give a voice to both sides'. The sides it wants us to listen to you mean. The right wing mindset is regularly ignored on newsnight.....and when it's there it's usually the 'Tory' SJW stuff.

Rather too much naivete on your part me thinks.

All news has agenda.....it's just whether you agree with it or not.

Disagree. Most subjects are chosen because they might appeal to the readers - or the customers, as the grocer - type proprietors will think. They are products to be sold.

Hence the importance of the BBC, and I also disagree with your assessments as per my prior comments about the make up of their panels. They piss both sides off, so an approximation of a middle ground is as good as it's going to get.

I'm not sure what race has to do with it here. You're maybe confusing Texas with Britain which are two different situations.

I was responding to Hrolf, who thinks that UK politicians pander to minorities, in that I was juxtaposing Texas to Britain rather than confusing the two.

That's exactly what's going on, and it's more egregious in the US where 95%+ of the population are immigrants or descendants thereof.

Here's something for you to consider: maybe, being 24, with a degree, with a full time white-collar job, and still having to share a flat with multiple mates because you can't afford to live where you work...which is Sheffield...is what is driving the discontent.
