Don't know why people pay so much attention to the odds in transfer markets. They are such insignificant sums bookies don't care one jot. Alot of the time it means absolutely squat

If this happens, Mayday is going to be overwhelmed with wrist strain injuries over the next 24 hours.

I may well be at the front of that queue.

French newspapers are reporting:

1. The deal between Palace and PSG is done. 14 million Euros.
2. It's now up to the player.
3. Cabaye wants proof of Palace's commitment to challenge, by demonstrating we have further resources available in the transfer market.
4. France Info is reporting that he wants to see a commitment to sign either Remy or Austin in order to persuade him to join. This sounds speculative to me, but that's what they're reporting.
5. He is on his way to London tonight by most accounts.

Austin? Surprised he even watched QPR last season.

My impression was that he wants Remy and Parish has offered to throw in a vintage car, too.

very good Syd do you think we will now bid for Benteke or Lambert .

Benteke will leave Villa. As long as the top four plus Liverpool and/or Spurs try to sign him, no point our putting in a bid. If none of those six clubs try to sign him, my view is that it WOULD be worth our putting a bid in, but one of them will. I realise a lot of people think I am mad for holding this view but if it boiled down to the second tier of clubs; West Ham, Everton, Southampton, Stoke, Palace, I think we would have at least a fighting chance.

When they were 1/10 on, then down to 4/9 and now back at 1/8...with a glass half full, then hopefully it's being sorted. I understand what you are saying but the fluctuations seem to be going back our way. Not a deffo by any means and until SP and AP confirm it, fair enough but I'm feeling it's a positive and close to being done. The odds have gone right tight on us over the last few hours.

Think back to our Manager market post Holloway. There were about 6 different favourites and pretty sure 3 of them hit below 1.2. Plus Bent was 1/10 on two years ago.

Its not a reliable market BUT there is no smoke without fire.
