No generalisations there then. When describing constituencies it is inevitable that generalisations will be used.

At the end of the day they are all the same. Trump, sleepy joe, the clintons, the tories and labor. They are all governed by the unlected WEF and do as they are told. It does not bother me anymore who is voted in.

It does not bother me anymore who is voted in. That’s one of the daftest comments ever posted here, and there’s a lot of competition. This is after all the news and politics section. It’s worthy of the most cynical of posters here. The WEF doesn’t govern anyone. They enable cooperation to occur and common strategies to be developed for the mutual benefit of us all. In an interdependent world such an organisation is essential.

Might be quite influential though. The question is who benefits from that influence?

I don’t doubt that for a moment. Trump needs people like you alongside his base of deplorables to win. So the interesting question is are you voting for something, Trump, or against something, Biden? I can understand why choosing an 81 year old does not appeal, which is why I remain convinced that, in the end, he won’t. I asked you a while back who your preferred Democratic candidate would be and if they stood would you switch. I don’t think you answered. I hope you will now. As previously stated I’m not sure either candidate is what is needed at this time of imbalance, BUT what I find hard to stomach are the ridiculous policies, incompetent cabinet members and general vindictive nature of the “progressive” left. So a change at the top makes no different to me if the substance below stays the same. Approval ratings in the toilet should let (you) / Dems know they are not speaking for sensible Americans and leading the country in the wrong direction. Hoping Trump self implodes is not a good strategy after 4 years of power!

Hoping Trump self implodes is not a good strategy after 4 years of power! I don’t see anything that could be reasonably described as progressive left in the mainstream of the Democratic Party. They seem as wedded to the principles of capitalism as anyone in the western democracies. They are just not so ridiculously extreme as the Republicans under Trump’s influence. He cosied up to Orban this week and has threaten to stop aid to Ukraine. Nobody ought to support such things. Nor do I see incompetence or ridiculous policies. Quite the reverse in fact. I see a collegiate approach and quiet common sense. Which makes a welcome change from the one man band shouting match that proceeded it. So I am amazed that anyone reasonable, as you clearly are, would entertain returning to chaos. It baffles me as much as it disturbs me. Trump could destroy the western alliance alongside isolating the USA. I realise people there are very inward looking but don’t they recognise the danger that Trump represents?
