If we're going to narrow focus on what is counted, let's also factor in that the vast majority of covid-19 cases are clearly never tested or registered to begin with, which of course could be a good thing in some regards for the same of moving beyond it faster. But it's a pandemic not a scam. I'm happy to accept that the vast majority of people would never need hospitalisation, but it clearly packs a punch compared to well just about any widespread virus in our lifetime and is working its way through the population. We don't want to verge on drifting into territory that infers a pandemic isn't happening, or hardly anyone will contract it. Both of those would be entirely false statements.

BBC reporting that government are looking at closing down the hospitality business because of the scientific advisors concerns that something might happen. Why don’t they just round up all publicans in the country and shoot them and put an end to their misery. They will destroy everything we love here with these utterly pointless draconian measures. Protect those who need to be protected and let every one else get on with it before we have nothing left to go back to.

Yet the anecdotal information is that the virus is spreading via different households close mixing inside homes.

It's interesting to me that lockdown v non-lockdown has become a left v right (or more accurately globalist v nationalist) issue I think it's built into the system that globalists simply trust what they are told and nationalists have developed a healthy mistrust of the state (and the global forces that run it)

Quite likely the government are using their new co-worker media after bowing to media pressure in spring to leak the possibility of a lockdown. Result is loads go mental over a lockdown and rightly so, but if there’s a real infection and hospitalisation problem in the next few months they can say ‘We wanted to lockdown but...’

That’s what I thought reading the whole his post and evidently not. (You need to post underneath the post you’re replying to and ‘quote’ in square brackets or yours ends up inside the post you’re replying to and it’s difficult to work out who said what)

The world is full of scroungers and chancers. I wouldn’t want to be born into this world right now that’s for sure. Don’t care if this is a sad way to be.

I reckon ‘You dirty Northern b******s’ might get sung more when (full, not 1,000 of 15,000 who’ve loaned the club £500) crowds are allowed back.
