A very encouraging feature of all this is that the left is predicting doom and gloom. As they are invariably wrong about everything else, that gives great credence to a better future out of the EU.

No point they won't get a start-up grant from the EU I would be very keen on devolved regions from London in England tho. Perhaps they can join Scotland as a new country all together. Can't find any ref to Hitler today so 'Hitler' that's better. Why don't you just move to France. They love the EU.

It's very tempting as London prices are absurd and my countrymen are no longer tolerant or nice. I am ok speaking day to day German or passable italian but just cannot 'get' french. Of course the concept of the Union is French.

Of course there are stock market booms and stock market crashes, that is the the nature of markets. Doesn't have much to do with being in or out of the EU though. Remainers predicted a major crash as soon as we voted to leave and it simply has not happened has it. So why mention the artificially inflated FTSE earlier to try to prove a point that doesn't really exist?

But I'll stick with the FTSE having little to do with being in or out of the EU. I made the original comment to counter the Remainer line that leaving the EU would cause a crash. I do accept that the market could have gone down; the Remainers would have said it was because of Brexit, it wouldn't have been.

That's correct. The left was wrong about universal education, the NHS, employee protection, safety at work, paid holiday time, minimum wage, environmental awareness (cleaner rivers, etc), so there is absolutely no way you should trust them about anything. Ever.

Its reasonable in theory. I don't think its overly practical though other than as a formality, which is really the case with most of the internal European borders. That border is one of the most notorious for smuggling. Until the 60s, customs was done between NI and Scotland. It will be 100% impossible to police the border as small towns on the border have no police. Immigration checkpoints have returned since the Tories kicked many Asians out of the UK.

Also, the creation of a National Health Service was in the 1945 Tory Election Manifesto: "The health services of the country will be made available to all citizens. Everyone will contribute to the cost, and no one will be denied the attention, the treatment or the appliances he requires because he cannot afford them.
