What do year make of the EU wanting customs on the Irish border? It couldn't be policed with thousands of soldiers, 50 customer officers isn't going to make a difference. With regard to immigration, people could fly to Dublin, go to Larne and get the ferry across. No passport control between Ireland and Northern Ireland and there's no border between Northern Ireland and Britain. Its reasonable in theory. I don't think its overly practical though other than as a formality, which is really the case with most of the internal European borders. That border is one of the most notorious for smuggling.

It's because the £ is so low Einstein. The value of the pound fluctuates over time, it has been lower historically. Yesterday, it also rose strongly along with the FTSE, Albert. Both will continue to rise as the benefits of escaping from the EU accrue.

Mmm,,, In 1929, economist Irving Fisher was jubilant, like you. “Stock prices have reached what looks like a permanently high plateau,” he rejoiced in the pages of the New York Times. On Sept. 3, 1929, the Dow Jones Industrial Average swelled to a record high of 381.17. Any idea what happened next? Don Bradman scored another century?

Of course there are stock market booms and stock market crashes, that is the the nature of markets. Doesn't have much to do with being in or out of the EU though. Remainers predicted a major crash as soon as we voted to leave and it simply has not happened has it.

Also isn't there a difference between when we voted to leave and when we do actually leave? That will be be the time to judge.

Don't really see your point as anything could happen with brexit and probably will. It is just a leap in the dark I don't think that is disputed.

No point they won't get a start-up grant from the EU I would be very keen on devolved regions from London in England tho. Perhaps they can join Scotland as a new country all together. Can't find any ref to Hitler today so 'Hitler' that's better.
