As with Tony Blair - if Neil Ferguson told me it was raining outside I would check for myself.

The main things that have stood out for me in this manufactured crisis are (1) That liberals/progressives are overtly authoritarian in nature (especially women) (2) That people in generally will go a lot further in terms of doing what they are told without questioning it and (3) Most importantly, the government (any government) have very little to do with actually running this country compared to media and many other non elected parties. Democracy is a total illusion.

Am I going through every example of your speculation and guesswork to label it as such? (You accused me of not reading the article so I posted some of the relevant quotes from the article, not your own, which call it theory, not fact) No. Hold yourself to a standard too if you're going to offer pointlessly one dimensional interpretations of an article. (It doesn't need interpretation, one of the authors said so) Inoculation, in its original sense, is a proven reality with certain viruses(Indeed it is, and they've been looking for a coronavirus vaccine for decades). Smallpox for instance (Nothing like a coronavirus though, what's the relevance?). Viral load is too. (True as well) A combination of instances of breakouts where masks were worn and clinical coronavirus animal studies demonstrating that lower exposure resulted in less severe cases has led scientists to explore this area,(This bit is where the guesswork is) which would seem to be a rather sensible idea. Sorry if that offends you in some way It doesn't). In the very post you excitedly informed us was guesswork I had already stated right at the top that it's "just a hypothesis.." just as in my following message I stated that it's worth exploring as a possibility, so I'm not sure what you think you're adding. You going HAHA GUESSWORK adfinitum, is neither here nor there since neither me nor the article has stated the hypothesis as fact in the first place. (Little rant ) I don't have time to endlessly argue the toss about nothing over and over (Effectively saying you have no arguement). If the article is of interest take it as such, if it isn't then don't. Guess what? I didn't Edited by BlueJay (15 Sep 2020 12.51am) Also, what are these stark differences in coronaviruses? The have ALL behaved the same in the past. Please try to keep your reply civil if you reply.

The journalists I see on news previews are enough to put you off the media. The moment I hear ‘Until we get a vaccine’ I know why they aren’t worth paying for.

I'm sure you'd rather have a 'cold' than SARS. You are proposing that they are the same in one specific regard and that covid-19 will be too. Good for you! The act of lockdown itself has effectively encouraged waves of infection and so we shouldn't be especially surprised if cases and indeed deaths keep increasing from the point they're at now for a while. To what point? Guess what, we don't precisely know. And you can call that a second wave if you want, or you take your 2724 internet points for arguing the toss, and physically wave at someone outside your window instead if you prefer. Life is full of options. It will be what it will be regardless of your or anyone elses continued speculation . Edited by BlueJay (16 Sep 2020 2.29am)

Restaurants can emerge from the coronavirus pandemic more profitable, says Tilman Fertitta - [Link] It's a difficult trade at the made of times, so it takes quite some effort to put a positive slant on a pandemic and lockdown. No doubt this billionaire restaurant and casino owner inhabits a very different financial reality than your average family business, many of which are no doubt on the brink or over it. How's the saying go? Never let a good crisis go to waste. We'll no doubt be seeing an even bigger wealth shift to the rich and corporations as they can weather storms that others simply cannot.

Good quality evidence. Medical masks vs face cloths vs ‘usual practice’ (mostly no masks). 1500 people over months. Face cloths worse, confirmed lab exam of infectious organism.

Sounds a little delusional considering the fine margins in the restaurant business before considering the slashing of number of ‘covers’ allowed due to society distancing, before you have to put a face cloth on to go the toilet. But that’s America where the portion sizes are too big anyway and obesity gets you closer to death with Covid so in that regard he could be right. If portion sizes get any smaller here it’ll become pointless eating out. It won’t make any order an extra course how they think it might.

(based on junk science or just one indicator-the worst indicator at that time in isolation from the rest)? ‘It will be what it will be’ - Yep. The fit and healthy face up to it.

I don't think that there was an approach that would've looked good as such, but I certainly agree that it's seen as a botch job. They've had a non approach full of contradictions and continue to do so (eat out to help out one moment, limiting groups sizes the next and so on and so on, Boris' lets all get tested every week fantasy, versus the reality, impracticality and futility of testing once the numbers get to a tipping point anyway).
