How on Earth did he think he could help the club without putting any money in. Maybe he's thinking of having a benefit gig, Palace Aid 2010

My co-producer phoned me last night with this: He's working alongside a lady who works for the P.R. company that were behind the P. Diddy story. It was a P.R. campaign from the offset, but once the hype grew so much Diddy and his team actually did consider the possibility of buying Crystal Palace - eventually it wasn't seen as making economic sense and the idea was quickly quashed. Pointless information now we all know it's rubbish but interesting to know that he actually entertained the thought of buying us!

There are lots of people "interested" in "helping" Palace as long as they can use somebody else's money.....Diddly is one of them.

I have also had it confirmed, from someone who spoke directly with PD, that he did contact the administrators and spoke with other interested parties, but the current state of the club's financial affairs led him not to pursue his initial interest.
The crowd is outstanding, and especially with the penalty after 44 minutes it was clear when we came out after half-time the welcome would be pretty loud and not too friendly. Crystal Palace wanted to strike back, so that was all clear. This is a wonderful place to play football - Jurgen Klopp |

Would have been great but oh well, never know, this CPFC 2010 Consortium may be the best thing for Palace in the long run. That is if the deal goes through and they secure the ground as well

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Rapper Diddy rejected Crystal Palace takeover ' by jcreedy From the BBC website
"There was somebody that had looked at it but the business of it just wasn't the right business move for me at the time," the entertainer told the BBC. Crystal Palace were on the brink of liquidation until they were bought by a consortium named CPFC 2010 last week. But Diddy said he was still on the lookout for a football club. "I'm always looking into different business ventures and it's definitely one of my dreams one day to be a part of a sports franchise, especially a football team," he said. "If the right situation comes my way and it's appealing and we can make the right splash and most importantly build the right team and win... I'm into winning and if it's the right situation then I'm open to it." The rap mogul earns an estimated £21m ($30m) a year, according to Forbes magazine. He will soon be seen starring alongside Russell Brand in the movie Get Him To the Greek, which is out in the UK on 25 June. He is also relaunching his music career by forming a new group called Diddy - Dirty Money, who release their debut single Hello Good Morning on Monday.

This is now in Gold Talk, so please don't post the new BBC story in Palace Talk.
It was my dream to play for Palace and to make my debut. I've always played for the club so if I'm playing here, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. - John Bostock (Nov 2007) |
