Except that it then has to be paid for via taxation, while being run with far less efficiency. Of course, but the state gets to decide what that looks like, not corporations.

Our government is failing to do that in even the most basic of ways. The French government protect people to the maximum in every way. Problem is they’ve been in massive debt for a very long time. Nationalising energy is working for them now but all the rest of the government support comes at a cost.

I can't believe I have to explain this, but it would mean we're not all hit with a monstrous increase in cost. I really don't understand your position - mass poverty, people not being able to turn their heating on in one of the richest countries in the world, but you're happy as long as the energy companies get to make billions out of it (and not even pay a decent tax rate on that) We're being taken for an absolute ride, and you're cheering it on. Those were kier starmers words on the wireless the other day.

I think the chancellor holding a green card while working in government is incompetence isn"t it? And only 12000 people actually arriving in the uk after 4 weeks is certainly not good, incompetence perhaps? We can not seem to get anything right at all, have a liar as our leader, so not sure you can believe anything coming out of his mouth at all, in fact, I will continue doing the opposite of any advice he gives, and will almost certainly be happy I did, strange times , shocking we have sunk so low, but, half the country seem happy enough! Lets see in a couple of months when the heating has to go on again and they are getting sick of having no spare money in the wallet, but who to blame? Certainly not the government, no way, blame the old labour government perhaps? Why ever not? It"s their fault for not winning the election, and 12 years isn"t enough time for a government to settle in after all, lets give them another 12, then see how the land lies!

Poland 2,500,000. France 30,000, Germany 316,000. But the UK is Ukraine’s biggest European cheer leader. As long as we don’t actually get our hands dirty. Johnson has piled in for all he’s worth as this is his Falklands moment but we make it nigh impossible for the women, children and elderly to flee here. I wonder why the image of the English across Europe is of being totally two-faced Edited by Mapletree (10 Apr 2022 10.51pm)

I think all Britons should give up their income and move out of their houses so there is more room and money for refugees. It's the right thing to do. Why should we expect anyone to care about our circumstance when there are all those foreigners who are more deserving than scum like us?

GDP figures slump to 0.1% in February. The figures don't lie, Sunak is ruining Britain. Not covid, not even brexit, but Sunak.
