This summer we need a change of leadership. The mentality under Roy is wrong, from parish down to the players. A new manager can get us finishing the league in the same mid table position as Roy, but in a more entertaining way, with better sound bites post game and also, Roy will be 74. It’s all very well saying this but it would be better if you backed it up with a suggestion of who could come in that’s available and better that Roy. As a realistic Palace fan, the one things we need as a club right now is stability. Factoring in all the background changes to the Academy, stadium and general infrastructure not to mention the economic situation!

Let me get this right..you're blaming Roy for Parish's mentality ? And you want '' better '' interviews from a new manager...wow...

Eddie Howe was talking about what he'd do if he was Palace manager last night and not commenting much about Burnley. Perhaps putting himself forward? Can't really blame Roy for last night. We need a midfielder who can take control of the ball and find a decent pass. Reidewald did well before being taken off. MacArthur is sadly now only a Championship player. After taking the lead, Burnley did well. We seemed to repeatedly try and carry the ball out of our own half, that gave them time to drop back into a tight formation and crowd us out every time we got near the final 3rd. Batshuayi had an awful game. Hopefully its just lacking a bit of match sharpness. Benteke might have been as we consistently failed to get the ball in the box. It seemed strange the options on the bench were Sakho and Cahill. Why would you need both? Kouyate isn't really a defender. He's not really a midfielder either. It's questionable if he's actually a footballer. Clyne seems to have a quiet but competent performance. PVA always seems to be a mix bag. His passing is woeful at times. Ultimately, it's a game we should be winning and we were below par all round, but not bad enough to take the risk of replacing him. Story of Roy's career. Heard Christian Eriksen is unhappy at Inter, lol. Seriously though, thought Monday's performance was typical Palace. Great morale boosting win against tough opponents, then a poor defeat against struggling opposition. Whilst the international break may not of helped, think largely the fluctuating inconsistency that has occurred for many seasons would of occurred in any case. Think we just don't have the players capable of putting a very good run together, come what may. Last time this happened I think was under Dougie in the Championship when FFS was on fire, causing the manager to leave for "better climes". Edited by Booted Eagle (26 Nov 2020 11.26am)

Clearly if we are defeated tonight, which of course is a realistic possibility, the cries of "Roy Out" will reach a crescendo and he will be on the end of unrelenting invective.

I’ve always been on the fence but get him out ASAP To lose back to back against Burnley and Newcastle without scoring is a disgrace. Blatantly obvious there were no attacking tactics, no clue what the team were doing and no motivation whatsoever. Get him out
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

The question is, is Roy getting the most out of the talent level of our roster? I don't believe he is. Our roster is much better than last year, and we look as bad, or worse. We lost to two very bad teams, without scoring one goal. Second, our team often looks unmotivated, slow, and complacent. Maybe that is because we play such a defensive, non-attacking setup every match. The players are going through the motions. Either way, I think Roy has lost the plot here. Or maybe he has just grown stale with the players. If I was a talented player, I really would not want to play under him. I don't want him out now, because it would be too disruptive, but I would like a new manager next season.

An aging squad full of has-beens and freeloaders that is in dire need of direction and motivation. The person to bring that is not Roy Hodgson, what we have witnessed against Burnley and Newcastle is what we saw at the end of last season. Tough games coming up and we may well be in the relegation mix by New Year.
