AJ v Pulev. Sham of a fight. Absolute disgrace. Punch and Judy would have been a better spectacle Pulev was a mandatory I think but if he is the best challenger, then heavyweight boxing is in trouble. Joshua carried him for 7 rounds. When I think of some fights of yesteryear in comparison to this nonsense, it is quite depressing. The fight with Okolie was a joke too.

He fought a stand-in fighter who was unbeaten but well out of his depth. His original opponent had to pull-out due to Covid-19.

They forget about 10 games in a row when he done f#ck all.

Its easy to think that the division used to be more exciting in the past but to be honest, it’s probably the best since the 90s

Smith v Alvarez tonight. Huge height advantage for Smith. Personally I think Smith will need to knock Alvarez out to get the win being the away fighter. If Smith can connect t it could be interesting.

However, I've never seen such an obvious weigh in size mismatch in a world title fight......Alvarez's head is Smith's shoulder height....which means even jabs can be delivered with power. If Smith goes for it and Saul can be stopped....this is definitely a chance.

Should have been jabbing his head off. Respect to CA

Can’t see it Tom. I like Saunders , although I do prefer watching heavier punching boxers, but I can’t see how he would be able to stand and trade with Canelo. If Smith couldn’t jab and get out the way with a 7 inch reach advantage, I know BJS is a cleverer boxer than Smith, I don’t know how he would.

I would love to be proven wrong though. In my view Cantelo has always been on the juice but in truth most of the top boxers are on some form of chemical advantage....even AJ takes something for a bs testosterone complaint. So I don't hold that against him now as it's ubiquitous among the elite ....most of boxing's divisions are red hot but Alverez is in that rare position of not really having serious competition. Everyday 3G ages the less it looks like even he is a serious threat. Edited by Stirlingsays (20 Dec 2020 1.59pm)

Get your point about BJS, however I honestly think this is an even fight. BJS is a far, far better boxer (not puncher) than Smith. He’s difficult to hit and lays traps. I know Canelo would start as a strong favourite but think Billy is well worth a punt.
