At the same time, he's not political with it this way or that, so has managed to get peoples backs up on the left and right at one time or another. He refuses to 'pick a side' which typically means that someone ends up speaking sense. I recall him criticising the furore that accompanied Liam Neeson's comments a whole back. Neeson may well have over-disclosed his feelings in being a young man angered by an assault on a friend, but it was treated as if he was prowling the streets with a baseball bat in the here and now. Barnes sought to turn the temperature down, commended him on his honesty and for moving beyond his anger.

She may as well have not bothered with this poor effort at an apology anyway. She's simply backtracking on account that she was called out for saying something so monumentally stupid and unfeeling. She clearly meant what she said, else why even say it to begin with. Granted it was a bad attempt at joke but it was based on another persons suffering, and she still underplayed it in her 'apology'. Hopefully the backlash will make her think twice next time she makes an ill advised attempt at humour.

Liberals look to inject you with political painkiller. Yet this is precisely the world that social liberalism created. It has no solutions because the rather sad truth is that egalitarianism doesn't work. But it sounds nice so it's used as part of the painkiller while the future for your children and grandchildren is increasing disfranchisement. Edited by Stirlingsays (07 Jun 2020 4.25pm)

If I said my respect for black people has dropped after all this, does that make me a racist?

I have some sympathy for some celebrities who tweet without necessarily thinking about the nuances and consequences of their words e.g. pop stars or footballers. This lady is a journalist she knows the power of words which is why I am annoyed with her. It wasn't a slip of the tongue and she gave a miserable apology non apology which has just made it worse. Just understand that collectivization equals power and that's what you are seeing here. Your history and monuments are literally being attacked over a death in the states.....and the most the Police have done is take a knee and shrug. Edited by Stirlingsays (07 Jun 2020 4.46pm)

Any prejudice through personal experience I had towards Black culture has increased tenfold after all this. Watching those brain dead idiots pulling down the statue of Colston in Bristol is truly symbolic of exactly what I and many others predicted about Mass immigration. Anyone watching the scenes in Britain this week while we are in supposed lockdown should take heed now and remember this warning.

If I said my respect for black people has dropped after all this, does that make me a racist? No I think it’s fair but there’s a caveat or several. I think the majority of all this is the youth and the very much the 2/3/4th generation youth if that makes sense. Most seem to have a highly inflated sense of entitlement and now, thanks to the media etc. being black makes you extra ducking special. I’m sensing at this time a lot of the older generations who ironically have actually been subject to actual racism are not really part of this. I saw an old boy from my gym today on my walk with the missus, he’s a black fella who despite age is still absolutely massive, I spoke with him briefly and joked about attending the protests to which his reply verbatim was what a load of nonsense. Ironically those involved are most likely to be the ones who demonstrate and promote the negative aspects of the black community. The big problem is they’re not a minority of it and I’m with you, if I did have a very low opinion of them already it is sinking to a rock bottom. The worst part is black folks who have worked life to achieve something in life and contribute to British society will get tatted with this brush. Adding to that, Andre gray, who has a scar on his boat from gang violence and famously posted homophobic comments online has said “I’m either a rapper, footballer or drug dealer in this country”. He for me is the embodiment of this ludicrous, pu55y self pity culture and I would love for some successful black professionals to come out and blast him for this. But they’d probably be racist too.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Edited by Badger11 (07 Jun 2020 4.44pm) That's a fair point. Many celebrities and footballers put their foot in it, but that's to be expected. If you're a journalist with any integrity though, you're not blurting out crap like this. Acting as she has pretty much invalidates her being taken seriously.
