Hardly! On the face of it that is a staggeringly high figure but on closer examination it isn’t. More than half are simply relocations within Europe, which with the EU permitting freedom of movement is hardly surprising. Not much risk there. Most of the rest is a reflection of the world we now live in, where travel and overseas living is becoming normal. I lived elsewhere myself for a while. Legal migration does not require huge risks. You arrive by plane, have a visa, somewhere to stay and either a job or family awaits you. Millions have left Ukraine because of the war. Not taking a risk, avoiding one. The risks are run by the illegals. That report doesn’t provide the numbers but it’s going to be a tiny fraction of the total. Still significant and a major concern but not nearly as big as suggested.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

Goodness, what a revelation! Do you ever stop to think how ridiculously smarmy the things you post about yourself are going to appear before you send them?

That’s very revealing. GBNews describes those creating the chaos as “protesters” and “demonstrators “. Try as they might though they cannot whitewash the real attitudes of those involved. Which can be easily discovered if the whole story, rather than just the headlines is read. Whilst my least favourite tabloid, which I regard as a right-wing rag, at least approaches this story with a degree of accuracy. It calls them “masked thugs”! I look forward to reading how anyone attempts to justify this behaviour. Surely anyone with an ounce of decency will condemn it outright. It should have no place in our country.

No one wants to leave their home, they did, You know exactly what the intended context was! My posts are long enough without having to satisfy pedants every time I type.

It’s not a revelation as it’s been mentioned several times when the context demanded. It was a reminder that I speak from a little personal experience. Ignore it if you wish. It’s of no consequence to me.

Sunderland seems to have gone nuts tonight. Police Station attacked. well, playing down in the Championship is no picnic.

When do imams condemn grooming, blowing up or shooting people, riots about police doing their job from Asians. It’s been coming for years and you know what. This is the taper for the whole of the west. If it goes against trump in The USA though it will look like a jamboree. It is about many things in the uk and it starts with no care for your own normal working class citizens who give the most but receive the least, which liebor show openly.

A tinder-box only needs a tiny spark. The Arab Spring started when the cops confiscated a street-fruit-sellers handcart. 300 million lives altered forever. To be a politician, the clever thing is to prevent the building up of any Tinder-box. When was the last time we had some clever politicians ? Edited by PalazioVecchio (03 Aug 2024 12.05am)
