Bit harsh sir.

I believe I fell foul of getting wound up by Lanzo’s posts at one point and do occasionally poke fun at him/the posts but very innocently I’m keen to add.

Very happy to be corrected given I do not ‘know and remember all’ but for all Lanzo’s strongly asserted and sometimes eyebrow raising posts I’ve never really seen him attack another poster and it certainly doesn’t come across as vicious to me.

Again, very happy to be corrected if wrong however whilst he may wind you up with what he says, it’s hard to see there being anything aggressive he is expressing personally beyond an opinion many often disagree with. I’ve learnt to embrace it as part of the wider picture as opposed to getting riled if you’re willing to take a suggestion.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

As if we didn't have enough bad luck with the last minute equaliser today we have Liverpool next who have finally found some form, are back in contention for the top 4 and have the likes of Van Dyke and Jota returning.
We have City,Villa and Arsenal to come in the next few weeks after Liverpool, by which time I very much doubt we'll have the current 6 point cushion.
It's likely to be nervy and I just hope our confidence isn't badly eroded before we commence an on paper easier run of fixtures.
As per usual scoring goals looks like it could be the issue.
You can't win games if you can't score goals.

Todays results elsewhere were not good for us. But looking at previous seasons the current points tally for that 3rd spot is pretty much the same as now.

Only once did a team go down on 37 points. The average is 35 if we exclude the season no-one got more than 26 which was an anomaly.

I would say 38 will see us safe. So 12 more points from 15 games.

Next week we have leeds v southampton and west ham v forest.

Momentum and confidence are everything at this stage of the season and all of the fixtures are "tricky" or difficult.

The current run is abysmal but I put that more at Parish and Freedman's respective doors than Vieira's.

If your plan is to transition to possession based football in the Premier League rather than counter attacking then it needs to be financed and recruited properly and not be half-arsed as has been the case.

Usual pointless conjecture about points required to stay up.

At least we definitely know we can’t possibly go down on 45 points AGAIN, the only team in premier league history to finish 4th off bottom and still go down

Wasn’t it 49 points?

All fair and valid points, but I would suggest Vieira is equally culpable. A good manager would realise he has not been given the full player resources to implement a complete transformation to possession based football and modify their strategy to suit the players they do have. Instead it seems PV has blithely carried on regardless as if he has a squad like Man City. Unless he at least temporarily abandons his idealistic plans and adopts a more pragmatic way to see out the season there could well be trouble ahead

We won’t get relegated this season. We are far enough ahead of the bottom three and these recent draws have kept our noses in front. It is getting more difficult just to tread water each season because the other teams seem to be finding owners prepared to spend silly money to stay up. Brighton are probably the one exception in that they seem to find gems for relatively little. Bottom line for us is that unless we find a striker capable of getting double figures each season, we are likely to run out of luck one day.

So you think it is not Vieira that picks Schlupp for a midfield spot in every game?

It was indeed 49 points in a 42 match season. The '4th from bottom relegation on 45 points' was a different season, also of 42 matches.

In the season we were relegated on 49 points, the two teams below us had 44 and 40 points respectively.
