As I've said before, the public are taken for mugs. Joshua could have won that fight any time from round 2.

There is little excuse for not ending it early considering Pulev was all but out of it. AJ gives his opponents plenty of opportunities and against someone like Fury they will be routinely taken advantage of.

That said I obviously wanted him to win, and would even be cheering him on against Fury since he'd be the underdog really.

Guess there’s an argument for him getting some rounds in though.

I had that very same thought and can understand that to a degree. Taking his foot off the gas comes with its own risks though. Still, I'm glad we're moving closer to Fury vs Joshua.

Yep, AJ V Fury is simply mouthwatering, one of those rare fights that transcends boxing. Still won’t quite believe it until I see the two in the ring together.

Two fighters in their prime and its in everyones interests for the fight to happen. Some words by Fury following the win - "Tyson Fury has posted a video on social media. In it he says: "I want the [Joshua] fight. I want the fight next. I’ll knock him out inside three rounds. "There you go everyone. Anthony Joshua got asked if he wanted the fight and he went round the bushes. I want the fight. I want the fight next. I will knock him out inside three rounds. I can't wait to knock him out."
"I thought it was a great finish. When he puts his shots together, they are explosive. He let Pulev back in the fight for some reason. It was a calculated performance and Pulev is a very good fighter. It would be a great fight if it happens. They are both up for it. They've got different styles though - Tyson is a totally different ball game to Pulev. Them shots won't be landing on Tyson so clean. If AJ can land, anyone's going down, but the same for Tyson, he's a puncher as well. It works both ways. Joshua is a little bit hesitant in there. He doesn't let his hands go too much. For me, he's too upright, he's got no lateral movement, and Tyson's got that in abundance. He's very, very awkward."

Joshua did a good job in the end... I think some on here are being a wee bit disrespectful to Pulev... Yes he's not in his prime but he's an extremely tough man and boy did he take some heavy shots... The Ruiz defeat has definitely changed AJ.. You can see he's worried about getting clipped. Don't think Fury v Joshua is as straightforward as some think... If it goes past 7 or 8 rounds its Furys fight though. Fury can give it as much large as he wants but let's not forget he's never had to defend a title or fight a mandatory.. In my opinion he's cherry picked alot of his opponents
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

AJ v Pulev. Sham of a fight. Absolute disgrace. Punch and Judy would have been a better spectacle
I disengage, I turn the page. |

Top amateur, only ever defeated once etc. Trouble is, AJ pre first Ruiz fight would have made short work of Pulev, probably going after him in the third. Guess it’s part of AJs learning curve knowing he does not need to take risks to get the job done Funny how hesitant AJ sounded afterwards when quizzed who to fight next.
