You have admitted that you dislike Hennessey, which does tend to cloud judgement. The hard facts are there isn't a better keeper at the club and Hennessey is ranked on performance 11th in the Premier League stats. To blame him for every goal we concede is laughable. I agree he could of done better in some of the goals we concede, but that could be said of every keeper bar none. I've stuck up for him on here in recent weeks when others have blamed him for things that I didn't think were his fault, ala the Spurs goal. I just happen to think that he showed up all of his worst traits against Burnley and so I have said it how I see it. Nothing to do with not liking him. Just calling it how I see it.

I find it odd how obsessed people seem to be with the guy, whatever their opinion. He's had some good performances recently, but probably isn't good enough and shouldn't be our no. 1 next season. He'll play the last 3 games of this season and it's stupid to suggest we'd be better off throwing anyone else in goal.

I think he is an average keeper. But we are an average team, who hopefully will just avoid relegation. Where I we going to find a top keeper who will join us. Certainly not from a team above us, unless it's a reserver keeper for a top team, but then he's a reserve for a reason. We could look at other leagues, but then we thought we'd got a good keeper who was the top keeper in the French league. Only other option is to take a chance with an up and coming keeper from z lower division. But then he had better hit the ground running or he'll be slaughter on here. Any suggestions? Like it or not WH is going to be our keeper for thd last 2 games and see no point in crucifying him every time a goal goes in. What's the point? Edited by spartakev2 (01 May 2017 1.23pm)

What about some criticism for luka. By far his worst game in a cpfc shirt. Also Barnes had Miss hit his first shot and had 2 attempts to score. All the myth that speroni better at his age and mandanda have no interest of playing for the club again. I heard parish say about Sakho sitting on the bench supporting his teammates. Something that mandanda wouldn't do. You only have to stomach him for a further 3 games, then I'm sure he'll be replaced and drop down to a number 2 gk. Edited by Dan89 (01 May 2017 1.25pm)

The main issue I have with Hennessey is that nothing is done with conviction, leadership or any fight. He just looks like a giraffe caught in headlights most of the time. At 6ft 5 he should be a presence, he isn't! Against Burnley, he let in 3 goals at his near post (including the one disallowed). That's unacceptable. And, rightly chalked off as it was, his "effort" at the handled goal was abject; he flapped around lik a dancing clown while the ball trickled under his body and in. I have praised Hennessey for his better play of late but much of that appears to have been the result of having Sakho around who is so good he takes the pressure off everyone (Kelly, for example, was notably worse again this weekend). But let's not forget, this is still the goalkeeper who nutmegged himself after a simple catch at Villa to lose us that game. He doesn't have the mental or physical toughness required at this level, and a new 'keeper is #1 on my summer wish list.
We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football. |

Edited by spartakev2 (01 May 2017 1.23pm) We're in the position of an average team but it is a false position now, given what we know we are capable of with a full strength team

Everton and West Ham and probably Bournemouth fans would disagree for a start. Given his performances since coming back from Injury so might Southampton fans where Forster is concerned West Brom are viewed as a stable PL club. Even if we stay up I think that there will be question marks over whether we are "established" or not.

Prior to this season they have been mainly in the bottom half and on top of that, they are based in West Bromwich. So basically, if they can do it, then we definitely can.
