By looking at it, I think we must need a small bit of it at the end by the fence to complete a full stand. I could be wrong, but that seems right.

I've not seen the detailed plans but as Mr Parish refers to a "Slither" one assumes he is referring to a small part of land which needs to be acquired off Sainsbury.

And when the 'Arthur Wait' is tackled this might mean the closure of 'Park Road' with all the resultant bottle-necks this will cause as the traffic is diverted.

At the present time I am finding it difficult to see how a modern stadium can be built on the current site whilst we still play there. And of course as I have mentioned several times the extra traffic will cause gridlock in the area surrounding the new modern ground with it's increased capacity.

That's an interesting question Ken. When we submitted, and had approved, plans to build a club shop/offices on part of that carpark, there was mention in the documentation of agreement being reached with Sainsbury's for the plans.

Maybe agreement in principle, thereafter the cost was discussed !

When your's and your neighbours homes are worth £500k minimum, it makes you very, very vocal. Would you like a football club you don't support or care about building a 35,000 stadium 2 minutes walk from you front door? I wouldn't.

Selhurst residents moved next to a football ground. Big difference.

Think of all that match day parking revenue if you tarmaced over your 1 acre garden.

See my (now amended) earlier post; we lease the car park behind the Main Stand from Sainsbury's.

The 'slither' of car park must be where the fence splits the 2 car parks at about the penalty spot at the WH end and going back to the end of where the very last piece of steel is to be holding up the new main stand.

Sainsbury's own the car park behind the Main Stand; we only lease it. To extend the stand into that car park would involve buying that land back.

Without a doubt. You cannot build a bigger stand without building further back, which is the actual plan anyway. To build behind and higher, then when finished, knock down the current and build in its place. We certainly need that mass of car park in the car park we lease and what looks like the slither at the WH penalty box end.

Or is SP referring to the whole oblong area running behind the main stand to get the whole thing built. Whichever the issues don't stop there. More parking is needed. That side of the ground shouldn't stop at a new stand IMO.

So who's in charge of the Supporters Against Sainsbury's campaign. This would never be happening with Lidl.

I would volunteer to stand outside a local Sainsbury's with a placard, and I ain't even joking.

All we know is their price is extortionate. Until we know, that is subjective to Steve Parish.

Get it ready for Hull at home.

What will it say? Golf sale? 16/17 kit clearance?

We don't know what we're objecting to.

Best thing for Sainsbury's would be Palace moving. Then they get their grasping little mits on half a prime housebuilding site
