Ms Merkel German PM connects with the people as though they are intelligent, and is warning Germans things will get worse as people return indoors. Apparently in poorly ventilated indoor areas micro-particles of covid 19 spread so we can imagine the risk in care and elderly homes. Aerosols are used at present to try and combat it. Imagine having a PM who actually had some idea of what they were talking about.

How many 'facts' have there been? I've never seen worse science in my life. I came to the realisation yesterday that since we were too stupid to cure the common cold, we probably won't cure this either. Corona virus is one of the cold viruses, Covid 19 is a mutation of that. Am I right? Who knows, but I'm as right as Merkel. So is my next door neighbour. There is no point thinking Merkel knows more or less than anyone else.

Ah, you have to love Merkel. when visiting England last time she arrived at customs and the official asked, "Name". She replied Angela Merkel. the official said, "Occupation". "No", she replied, "just visiting". The old ones are the best

Not well before at all seeing as though the hindsight lefties claim we should’ve locked down a week earlier saving thousands of lives. That’s actually debatable seeing as firstly most of the deaths at that time were in care homes and it now looks as though hard lockdown countries outside of SE Asia are experiencing bigger and more virulent return of Covid. But more to the point, we locked down everyone to protect mainly the very elderly and then a few million more with low immune systems. We knew after the first few weeks who this was killing. Once we knew thousands upon thousands weren’t going to be filling up hospitals and on ventilators we should’ve been honest to the public and told them what the risk really was. The economic suicide and long term damage to health and death from other illnesses takes some believing when you know who is at risk, who isn’t and the percentage risk of all groups we knew early in. All of the ‘we’re learning about the disease and we don’t know enough and didn’t early on’ is a load of pony and excusing our lack of backbone. But they don’t mind saying we should’ve locked down earlier which it’s turning out to be more and more difficult to prove if that would’ve been more beneficial anyway. Just different people would die or possibly more eventually. Hindsight is apparent across the board. There is no positive outcome to a pandemic and whatever approach was chosen would seem like a bad one. As it's something the entire world is dealing with, there will be no escaping the bulk of the consequences for most. Since lockdown ended I've largely been getting on with life as normal. I dare say I've likely been out more than most, supporting local businesses and seeing friends I've been away from for far too long. The only steps I take for the most part are to stay away from those in vulnerable or elderly groups where I've been anywhere busy in the previous two weeks and to wear a mask in areas where there is a reasonable expectation that I'd do so. That's exactly the approach I would take regardless of what the government suggested. It's been and will continue to be a tough time for all. Everyone has a different way of coping with fears about the virus, the economic fallout, and isolation. Venting clearly being one of them. Online anger though isn't something I would suggest particularly makes the government adjust its plans. It's a better time to get out and about and for the country now than it will probably be in a couple of months, so I'd suggest that people make the most of the moment.

Oh I’m out and about and have been since February. I’ve just remembered the odd feeling at our last home game and empty seats where season ticket holders usually make it full. Going to the large gym with four people in it. The government weren’t boot strapping us into lockdown before we knew what it was looking like. The people on Italian and Spanish tv all looked like they were struggling with health, in cultures that smoke hard and hug and kiss everyone harder. I do what Bluejay does, just without the mask that should be worn every winter or for ever going by the logic and the fact Japan does so we must too type new snowflake westerner rubbish. Oh yes the autumn and winter is going to create many challenges and problems, mainly down to this economic and lifestyle surrender and suicide. Mortality in Sweden is equal to some recent years and not much higher than other years. Ours isn’t too bad either, although some who would’ve been treated for cancer and heart have had to die. Really makes you wonder. Oh well, mass unemployment, mental problems and illness here we come. For others I mean. Edited by Rudi Hedman (28 Aug 2020 3.30pm)

Edited by Rudi Hedman (28 Aug 2020 2.38pm) It does make you wonder if Palace are spending money on players to protect the mental health of the fans. It does seem so out of character!

Maybe have lucked out a bit keeping powder dry until we have disposable revenue to spend and Covid capping transfer costs. Plus we don’t rely on corporate or matchday revenue as much, not that it’s anything to think is an advantage long term, or is it? God I hope this nonsense doesn’t keep going on. They’d have to accept illness and death happens apart from undiagnosed or unseen cancer and heart sufferers.

Professor Chris Whitty has gone silent, Boris is trying to threaten people back to work, and even Keir Starmer has gone AWOL.
