Well, I think we all could agree with the highlighted text.

Shame about the rest of it....besides what are you talking about 'personal insults'? All that's pretty tame....no wonder comedy is dead on the left.

I just can't wait for the ranting in 2024....If the Hol went to subscription it would be worth paying it just for the impression of human rabies you'd give over a Trump presidency.

What a strange comment. Almost all comedians are left wing and have been for years. There are few right wing ones and of those, most aren't very good.

I can only think of Geoff Norcott who has been on loads of panel shows etc as he's right wing - yet is pretty average.

Perhaps your mind is on the cruise....I wouldn't blame you for that.

It is, along with the climax of the bowling season tomorrow and Friday.

That and the fact that my wife is in daily contact with people infected with Covid which could threaten our holiday, and the trip she will make 4 days after we return, should she test positive herself.

Getting amused by idiotic comments by people incapable of reading is just a brief light relief.

The second paragraph has already been succinctly answered. That you don't recognise the personal and insulting nature of many of your comments ought, I believe, give you pause for some reflection.

Hopefully, if things progress as I would like, Trump won't stand in 2024 because he will be so discredited that the GOP won't risk him. I have to wonder though whether he would like to be indicted and jailed, as it plays into his narrative of being the victim of a "witch-hunt". He is a devious devil. As the alternatives all look, at the moment, to have to imitate Trump to stand a chance of nomination, it remains unknown which of them would prove a better choice. Right now, they all look unfit. Who the Dems pick matters as well. The US electorate appears to have even shorter memories than we do here, as well as apportioning blame on politicians for events beyond their control. It will certainly be interesting and very, very important. Whether I "rant" depends on many factors, mostly as yet unknown.

Possibly because many right wing comedians have been cancelled

It's another weird way of looking at the world.....it's like you think that all of a sudden people aren't right wing in large numbers when the Tories have an 80 seat majority mainly based on Brexit.....there were plenty of right wing comedians of the past but you appear to think now they just don't exist?

I think you'll find if you actually moved in conservative/dissident right circles that what's more the case is that 'right wing' comedians aren't platformed by liberal and left media....which is basically the vast majority of mainstream corporate media.

It's not that they aren't out there....some of the more tamer ones are now getting gigs on GB News, which is something.

Someone controversial like Ricky Gervais (who is a kind of an old fashioned left wing libertarian) would be unlikely to have broken through on the BBC today.....he's made the same observation that his show wouldn't have been commissioned..

You mention Geoff Norcott, but I view him as tokenism who is happy to tow their line.

Once a comedian becomes know as right wing the vast majority of comedy clubs won't book them. (back in more conservative times this wasn't done to leftist comedians)...only just recently a couple of right wing comedy clubs have opened up to solve this issue.

Examples of right wing/dissident right/centralist comedians....I'm sure I'm leaving plenty out here.

Andrew Lawrence (right wing)
Alistair Williams (right wing)
Leo Kearse (self described right wing though I'd call him a small c conservative)
Andrew Doyle (Centralist)
Konstantin Kisin (centralist small c conservative)
Jerry Sadowitz (difficult to place, probably lefty libertarian)

Most right wing comedians, like who use to be regulars on the comedy circuit are now funded by fans during steams/videos, Williams, Lawrence to name a couple.

I haven't been ill since I initially caught covid last July. The vaccinated seem to be re-catching this stuff all the time.

That has to be a co-incidence. There is no logic to an idea that having a vaccine makes you more vulnerable.

It's rarely been just one vaccine....but I guess we will all find out eventually. I make no claims other than the observation.

I previously stated only a day or two ago on the Covid thread that 3 people known to me now have Covid for the 3rd time and they are fully vaxxed. Thankfully all over it now.

I wonder if their recovery would have been so swift if they had chosen to inject themselves with bleach.

I disengage, I turn the page.

Old BMJ article from 2021

Data indicate that neutralising antibodies last for several months in patients with covid-19 but gently fall in number over time. One study, published in the journal Immunity, of 5882 people who had recovered from covid-19 infection, found that antibodies were still present in their blood five to seven months after illness. This was true for mild and severe cases, though people with severe disease ended up with more antibodies overall.

All of the vaccines approved so far produce strong antibody responses. The study group for the Moderna vaccine reported in April that participants in an ongoing clinical trial had high levels of antibodies six months after their second dose. A study in the Lancet found that the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine induced high antibodies with “minimal waning” for three months after a single dose.

Natural immunity appears slightly better than from the vaccines but there was some debate it may be more specific to the strain and give less broad based coverage.

Kills 99.9 percent of all Trump voters dead.

Not one of his better lines admittedly.
