People have been encouraged to believe lies since communicating ideas began. You are literally the breathing evidence. As for 'The Atlantic'....? Such required reading for 'one nation conservatives'. No I won't watch your leftist propaganda programme......I know all I need to about Qanon.....As you wrote on here that the Democrats and BLM/Antifa don't work together I find your obsessions with your political opponents almost simplistic. You demonstrate both your ignorance and your unwillingness to overcome it. Both the documentary and the article are a long way from "leftish propaganda". They are wake-up calls to anyone who truly believes in democracy. By refusing to watch, you also confirm one of the central points being made by them. These people are not MY political opponents. They are OUR political opponents.

There you go! Evidence of the conspiracy theories so clearly identified in the C4 documentary in plain sight. You are being used. You just don't know it. Mr Putin says thanks by the way.

You're the type that anything I say that doesn't agree with you means some extreme and hyperbolic nonsense....You are as paranoid as anyone. The Russia-gate episode proved just how quick you are to believe just whatever you want to believe....quite amusing considering as you finger point at others for doing the same. I wrote about Qanon at the time.....and while I was never part of that belief system they were never my 'opponents'. I wasn't a party to insulting them as most of them are republicans who were led down the garden path. They share much of the same frustrations I also have. When it comes to finding out who was behind Qanon, I'll listen to objective sources....and that's not Channel 4. Oh and by the way do you really have to write in capitals to emphasize something...you aren't writing for the Sun or Sport you know. Edited by Stirlingsays (09 Dec 2021 4.32pm)

Edited by Stirlingsays (09 Dec 2021 4.32pm) If either one of us has a political viewpoint which is similar to McCarthy, it isn't me! I see no reds under the bed. I do though see very clear evidence of social media platforms being used to spread lies and misinformation to people whose prejudices are such that they are willing, wanting even, to believe them. When the security forces of the 5 eyes openly state that much of this activity is created in cyber farms sited in Russia, which are believed to be working at the behest of Putin and the Russian state, then I tend to believe them. I certainly believe them over an apologist for the impact of this corruption like yourself. That you still believe "Russia-gate" wasn't real is, quite frankly, an appalling admission that you too have been duped by this activity. It's very sad. I just hope if and when the truth does finally become clearly visible to everyone, that you have the decency to admit you were wrong. The 5 eyes know it's true. That's good enough for me. Have you watched the documentary? That C4 made it is irrelevant. Listen to Stone and Flynn and the Qanon believers. You can filter out who is behind the camera. It ought to concern everyone when democracy itself is under threat. We all have our own style. I don't like yours either, but it's not relevant. I criticise ideas, not the way they are expressed

And laughing with two cans of Stella in me isn't helping the digestion. Edited by Stirlingsays (09 Dec 2021 7.34pm)

I am not even asking you to trust a broadcaster. I am asking you to listen to statements made by a variety of people, in their own words. Listen to their reasoning. It's not edited to say something they didn't actually mean. This isn't any kind of hatchet job. It's a documentary which allows people to explain their reasoning. That the reasoning doesn't make a lot of sense doesn't mean it wasn't said. The only "correction" I recall was the presenter saying after someone made the claim that Michelle Obama is a man who is better hung than he is, that this isn't true. He didn't say why. Stella? You traitor. Belgium beer that tastes like p*ss, and is now owned by the Americans. Drink proper beer, brewed in Burton, with some body and decent hops, like the true Englishman you profess to be. Even Elgood's at a push. Stella is for pansies. It's sold to the gullible, with a large part of the purchase price spent on convincing you it tastes OK.

When conceited septuagenarians opine, best to ignore. Conceit combined with hubris is well represented on this thread.
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

You just refused to even look at something for entirely ideological reasons. My keyboard is silent. I have moved on from a Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Humour bypass or over-sensitivity? What made me laugh was an avid Brexiteer proudly proclaiming he was drinking Stella rather than any of our fantastic, favour rich, locally developed and brewed ales. From a can, too! The only way to fully protect, and then appreciate, the flavour of a beer is to use a totally inert glass bottle and drink it at room temperature. Lager, in a can, probably from the fridge? That's for novices!

We mustn't allow our attention on the activities of the former POTUS to slip, just because we have a crisis of our own. Although the ridiculous title of this thread never fails to amuse, it seems the appropriate place to keep up to date on the Congress enquiry into Trump, and his associates, connections to the events on Jan 6th this year. This gives a pretty good picture. Please forget its source and concentrate on the information it delivers:-
