Completely agree. The irony being that soon all these players will be scooting off to Saudi Arabia and their bombastic amount of money they are chucking at players. A lot of people moaning about it, and I fully understand why, but in an extreme scenario I could see an upside to it! Imagine an English/European footballing world where teams were a representation of the geographic areas they are both named after, and supposed to represent, the fan bases reflected this, the team/players mirrored this and any sensible debate over who is better than who actually has merit to it as opposed to 'my sugar daddy is richer than your sugar daddy'. Quite frankly, I'd not mind seeing the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, the Manchesters, Liverpool, Newcastle, so on and so forth dethroned as their best players and the money travels elsewhere. Either that or teams have to revert to 'proper' scouting and attraction of players beyond cheques stained in blood money accompanied ludicrously by the constant, ironic pontificating to football spectators on such things as racism, misogyny, inclusivity etc. etc. when they are funded by corrupt regimes. Might see an end of the corporate football clubs and the gloryhunting, tourist fan. Probably a lot wrong with that but just a thought... or rant from me.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

I mean he was in flamengos last match squad but why let a small detail like this make anyone reconsider the validity of the resident ITK. Unfortunately the apologists who are supporting this windup merchant are now just doing so for the sake of defending him. As everyone has said there’s merit in posting gossip from social media and consolidating into a thread on HOL for those that don’t access Twitter and such like but that isn’t what’s happening here. ‘I’ve been told’ is all takes and is being presented as inside information aka ITK. Even when time and time again it’s shown to be nonsense. When you make sweeping statements like ‘it’s done’ to ensure some credibility and doesn’t come off all he has to say is it’s in good faith and the apologists lap it up. The posts are an ego trip for themselves and thrives off the few followers they have left. Obviously the apologists will rush to the defence as usual but if you are going to present concrete statements on transfers of the club which invariably are proven to be incorrect you have to expect it to be challenged. Info on the club can be emotive and posting misleading information is going to cause a backlash. If the apologists don’t like it, ignore it. There’s plenty of examples on here of posters posting rumours but unlike some they provide a link and source which is far more reliable than hoodwinking a certain section or HOL by just saying ‘I’ve been told’ When you see a player grinning holding or wearing a Palace, then you can believe it’s true. Everything else is just rumours.

Can’t understand why there is not far more alarm being expressed about the way the Arab leagues are literally buying the game. I say game, it’s an industry .

If the only TV football in the near future is the Saudi league, I for one won't be watching it and I suspect I won't be alone.

Lets be clear.... the majority (not all I know) of players moving to the Saudi league are coming to the end of their career. It's basically turned into an exhibition league. Cant blame the players that have moved over as they are earning generational wealth at the end of glittering careers. It'll be interesting to see what happens over the next few years.... They are simply doing what the PL has been doing since its inception but somewhat more blatantly and quickly. As for real football fans, we'll still be going to watch our teams when the top players are playing in Saudi. Watching every game live on TV doesn't come close to the real thing..... COYP |

I know f all like everyone else, but it always felt to me that we would keep two of Olise, Eze and Wilf. To let two go would be madness and I have more faith in SP than that.

As someone that watches, and enjoys football right across the board having played because I loved it many years ago, and still do, I fully agree as real football fans ,people ,we will still watch , if not all kinds of football then the team we have followed most of our life’s

It’s what LIV is to Golf. Mostly a retirement home for fading stars, but as with LIV you can see it’s just the beginning and they will try to slowly but surely buy football.
