They may have broken the law in the E.U, but not by entering the uk, once here, they have not broken any of our laws. And as we are non E.U, it is none of our business, let the E.U countries worry about them passing through. Nearly 85% of those claiming asylum here, are genuine and can stay, and only 6 have been sent back this year.

By attempting to enter the UK illegally they have broken the law but not one that is enforced/enforcable.
Not sure where you get your figures from but IMO they are way off the mark regarding genuine asylum seekers.
With regard to removals, believe me the HO try but many obstacles put in the way
Numerous appeals
HR lawyers ( feathering their own nests possibly)
Most are not detained so can easily “disappear “
Attempting to get documentation from their own governments

You conveniently avoided the facts I posted that showed the the UK to take in very small amounts of asylum seekers compared to other European countries such as France, Italy and Germany, the UK ranks 14th. That should make you happy, less non white skinned people for you to complain about.

Portugal take very few, perhaps whilst you are there you could lobby the government and request they take a fair share of the thousands of displaced people roaming Europe

Sorry CP, I’m not following the logic. When we were in the EU we couldn’t stop people coming because of freedom of movement and now we’re not in the EU we can’t stop people because it’s none of our business?

Correct and the fact that France takes in and settles far, far more than the UK makes it even more of a no brainer in moral terms. Unfortunately the brexit mantra of chest beating and attempting to give the UK a 'bully boy' image by the current 'government' has caused the death of women, children and even very sadly a pregnant woman. Utterly shameful and in full view of the rest of the world.

In 2018 - last figures I could find - the UK were no 6 in the world list for immigration at just under 500,000 incoming.
France did not even make the top 10.
Do you have more recent facts?

How many countries do they go through to get to France?

Yesterday France 24 news channel was reporting that some migrants had applied for asylum in other EU countries and that had been refused.

'Tory MPs cast proxy votes while on corporate jolly at Royal Ascot'

Good to see the government taking migrant deaths seriously.

Two Tory MPs used proxy votes while attending Ascot races in June. What on earth does that have to do with the deaths of illegal immigrants?

It was on LBC spider yesterday, and they don"t throw figures around unless correct, they are always picking up callers saying you can"t say that as its not factual. I do respect your experience in the game thou and am not saying before brexit things were great, but these were the figures stated yesterday.

We voted to abolish the returns agreement with brexit, we could have returned people before we left, if the will was there, now we can"t!Now, we alone control our borders, sounds great in theory, in practice we are a sitting duck for refugees to come. And asking the French to take the refugees/migrants back, isn"t going to wash, why would they? Great to see the French get some backbone and take control, by telling Priti shes not welcome in negotiations, it might force the issue and we can get someone who actually knows what they are doing in charge!

France take double ours and Germany three orfour times the amount,we don"t take as many as we used to, only have made it harder to claim asylum now with normal routes in , thats why they are coming by dingy.

you mean ''tens of thousands of young men, of military age, who came here of their own volition.

Mostly from countries not currently at War.

Economic migrants rather than asylum?
