Of the apparent options Dyche makes the least sense. Howe, Lampard and Hodgson are all available for free and given that we probably need to spend everything we've got and a bit more on new players, paying a transfer fee for a manager and coaching staff from another club is a crazy extravagance.

On top of that, Dyche and Hodgson do pretty much the same thing tactically. I would completely understand if Parish concluded that anti football was best for the club, and that Dyche was his number one target therefore, but in that circumstance he should just retain Hodgson for a year whilst Dyche runs his contract down rather than pay for him now.

Agreed. Although Dyche may be seen by some as getting more out of limited resources than Hodgson, the difference doesn't (IMO) justify buying out his contract if Hodgson still wants to continue.

Having said that, and possibly like many fans, I just want to see what the next phase of our club's development will look like, and that (for me at least) means a new manager with a more forward looking football philosophy. I'm just not sure how soon we will be able to make that change.

Another piece of tittle-tattle . . .

He could end up losing out big time if this continues, tho, if a club is 'that' desperate, he'll get a job somewhere.

Howe played Palace, Charlton and Burnley off against one another before opting for the Burnley job.

But I don't see anything wrong with exploring all possible options which is what he could be doing now.

Also, as the season nears its end the so-called 'pundits' and 'reporters' will be putting forward various manager merry-go-round theories as they try to work out:
- which managers will be getting the chop
- which new club will go for them
- which clubs will make a left-field appointment and, of course,
- What will Big Sam do?

If Brighton do replace Potter with Howe, will we see Potterball at Selhurst or will Potter want to steer clear?

An interesting few months ahead, especially with the COVID fall-out to consider and where player transfer prices and wages end up.

Bring it on!

I would rather have Potter at Palace than Howe. If they get a striker who can put away chances then they won't be in a relegation fight next season. They have young players like Trossard and Boussouma who are rapidly improving and if Maupay could work out where the goal is they'll be flying. I'm starting to wonder if it's Howe's agent who is drumming up all these rumours to try and force someone's hand!

exactly, it's not particularly smart to accept the first offer that comes along. Howe has to make the best decision for him and that mean learning all he can about each job that is (supposedly) on the table.

I had three job offers when I joined my current employer and they were all quite different set-ups so I had a lot to think about. I'm still here 12-years later so it was clearly the right decision for me and them.
