And now its shut down. The consequential damage there isn’t known or public knowledge yet. Highly likely most people in NZ could socially distance if they wanted to anyway.

Like here, a lot more cases detected in France. Like here, very few deaths after a falling trend in France. ‘Must be cautious blah blah blah’ Attachment: 28CA8937-3F24-4F04-BF12-61CC64F80943.jpeg (84.97Kb)

Younger people catching it and testing so called ‘positive’ after a clipboard clown knocks on the door? The virus is getting weaker. Something some doctors have said, hence the low numbers of barely any in ICU. Vulnerable people are shielding, hopefully because they don’t believe the government or they know or think the measures taken make very little difference or that most measures make very little difference unless you lock everyone up. Something you cannot do in the modern world apart from in some places or with some governments.

True and this could be the end of the first wave hence why its weakening. viruses ,or the spanish one a 100 years ago came back even more deadlier.

Can you not see that cases are rising but deaths are falling? Why would that be? A few reasons. One being that deaths almost always occur weeks after someone tests positive and is a case. There is always a significant lag. But yes also more along the lines of your comment, half of the homes have already been wiped and other people in vulnerable or elderly groups are making decisions that ensure their safety and so hopefully the death toll will remain low. We see in places like New York that was hit really badly that the number of cases so far appears to be very stable for now. Admittedly there are still certain restrictions, but the whole 'the second spike will be worse than the first' thing thing is taken as fact but we really don't know either way. Fingers crossed that it just isn't. Edited by BlueJay (17 Aug 2020 1.39pm)

If anyone is tempted to go all 'Your Country Needs You!' and take part in the Vaccine trials, it looks like they want more volunteers. It's clearly an unknown, but there as an option for people.
