And could that be down to the way the team has evolved/not evolved under Roy and so many players out of contract end of this season, are the foundations solid at Palace for a new manager?

I am more than happy with points over playing "attractive" football

If i wanted easy on the eye, pleasant football id follow man city, liverpool etc...

its always one or the other with palace...good football and no points or s***e football and points on the board! never at the same time.

lets be realistic here once hodgson goes i would put a heavy bet on us going down within a season!

For your benefit "that true six months form..."

its the current reality why many fans are worried of where we are heading, when you see more games like against Brighton (plus he seems clueless playing teams like Chelsea based on away matches there this season and last... it was more about keeping the goals going in, down!),
they are relative to the matches played from June at the end of last season. based on his preferred tactical A-Plan, with same core of his favourite players.

Then we get games where Roys seems to wake up.. "we can win this".. great games against UTD, Soton, Leeds. Not sure fully about Fulham although we won, if was more of a "safe format"....to get a win. But a wins a win....
But is this not the Roy, surely our fans want to see, a positive Roy?

Our fans can see we have some great players but who are under achieving when negative tactics are employed. You can see clearly when Zaha.. is P..sd off, even Ayew, Luka!!

Or does he continue to rely on defensive formations with no belief we can get much out of a match and hope our counter attacking comes off to please a section of our fans?

Where are you with Roy?

still dont understand why your using the last 10 games of last season, as they dont & didnt matter. actually i do know why, because using an awful run of form after the restart to help weight your agenda against the manager.

all the currently matters is this current season, and out progress this season so far.

if we lose to burnley we will still have 13 points from 9 games...comfortably mid-table

Should we survive in the PL this season, Hodgson will have kept us in the top flight for 4 seasons without having spent a significant amount in the transfer market.

Should this be his last season at the club and we have to appoint a new manager there might well be a sense of perturbation amongst the supporters.

What we can say them, is the previous managers developed the right players so they could last, but now the club has stagnated because new players CP wanted went perhaps elsewhere ie WSpam. The bids were made, players didnt come?
Players choose to go to a club because whose in charge, what style of football is it- defensive or attacking, how they rate their chances, what the salary is, could I see play for my national team other side of the world and what league that team is...

This is the most successful period in our history. If that’s stagnation, let’s stagnate some more.

Roy is doing a great job, as the saying goes be careful what you wish for. Some of the managers touted on here are not looking to clever at the moment...Dyche for one!

Agree and wonder if Dyche, often touted as being a natural replacement for Roy,overseas yet another defeat against us,whether he will be the first Prem manager sacked this season ??

I noticed the home page has us thinking of Europe. Straight away I thought, jinx!
We've all seen what happens if we get our hopes up. Even the newest supporters have experienced it.

I don’t know if Dyche is the answer as a replacement for Hodgson or not, but surely it’s equally absurd to dismiss him for Burnley’s poor form this season as it is to dismiss Hodgson for the losing run at the end of last season.
Dyche has a solid body of work over a number of seasons and has done an excellent job taking into account his limited resources.
If the definition of good management is getting the maximum out of available resources it would be hard to dispute that Dyche has achieved this.
With regard to Hodgson, he has shown flexibility this season with regard to moving to 4-4-2 this season and showing a willingness to include at least one attacking midfielder.
This is all many fans were asking for.
