The atmosphere was awful and will get worse now we've lost the thing that made us stand out from the crowd. Little pockets of noise with the songs petering out really fast with no leadership or continuity. Negative chants including racist stuff about salah, homophobic will young and pro tommy robinson crap . That's not palace. Embarrassing and needs sorting by the club asap. Embarrassing- this needs to be sorted out. Our iconic atmosphere and iconic presence disintegrating is woeful.

What, exactly, are the Club supposed to do? It's clear it is simply not possible to order 100 people to leave their seats - should they relocate the entire Whitehorse end & let them take that over? Thought not. There are two sides to this & from the outside looking in it appears that there is blame on both. It is fairly obvious that this should all have been done as part of the redevelopment yet nobody has bothered to answer the question (ZERO has asked several times) as to why it couldn't wait until then.

I'm so pleased i wasn't the only one to come on here and bemoan the lack of atmosphere...I'm not one to blow smoke up the HF's arses but...and its a big BUT...we miss their energy...for their few bad points there is that one BIG PLUS in that they get the ground going. They must be very pleased with themselves after last nights damp squib; the ball is very much now in the hands of SP and the club. What I would say is I agree with the clubs stance of not forcing long standing seat holders to move just because the HF want to stand there...but what would be pragmatic is to sit with HF and agree a sensible way forward for both fans and club...but in order to do this the HF MUST understand that they are not THE ONLY fans in the club, and they can simply expect to oust others, most of whom have been supporters for far longer. For me a compromise would be for the club to announce that the middle block will be given over to the HF NEXT SEASON and to offer compensation of sorts to those who move...perhaps reserved rights to the new stand, or even discounted season tickets for the following few years.

It got loud at points but you miss two things without the HF: 1) the constant singing that people get involved in that keeps the atmosphere going 2) the drum. songs start and end so quickly when you haven't got someone on the drum keeping everyone going. As suspected a very different experience sat in Block B without the HF. Amazing that it has got to this point.

I was in block A and thought it was decent. Loud most of the game and really loud when everyone was letting Salah know that he was a James Hunt. Not much different to usual , those around me thought the same. Funny you say that, in the AW it sounded awful. Seemed like we were just a 'normal' club now.

it happens the world over that ultras groups get too big for there boots and reckon they are owed special treatment. look at the Lazio ultras who reckon they have the right to ban women from there end. Whats embarassing thing with the HF is that they demanded something that the club could not be granted yet and so have done a big girly flounce

Your last paragraph is an excellent plan - let's hope something like this is being worked on. What appalls me is that the HF have proved that they have no love of Palace at all. They have obviously been singing in order to big themselves up rather than to support the team and this has stopped me in my tracks; I just hadn't realised that this was the case. I left last night almost in tears and it had nothing to do with the result. I travel from near Liverpool to the home games - had to stay in an Airb&b last night - and to find that the HF would put themselves ahead of my club has devastated me. I genuinely believe that their extra effect could have dampened Liverpool somewhat last night. If any of the HF are reading this, please explain your thinking - by PM if you don't want to go public. If nothing else, please lend me the drum!

Could hear the away fans loud and clear all game. I don't think I've heard the away fans so clearly in years. Liverpool outsung us all game. We need to do better next time. The racist and homophobic chanting coming from the back of A/B doesn't help either an needs to be stopped.
I'm tough. I'm ambitious. I know exactly what I want. If that makes me a bitch, I'm OK with that. |

In the heart of Block B the atmosphere was excellent, but I guess it always has been... What I can't understand is this. A few of the HF pushed their way into our row, ok fine, we are used to that as we have a decent view and in the heart to the main noise. But these guys didn't sing at all... maybe a couple of Eagles here and there but they didn't pitch in to make any noise. Were they on singing strike as well?? Its all turning out as cutting your nose off to spite your face.

The atmosphere was bright for the first 5 minutes yesterday, then fell away and it really was really quite embarrassing. I feel like we used to have unique little something that away sides would not like to play against, but now we're just the same as every other soulless bowl in the PL. Never have I heard the away fans as loudly as yesterday, and there were times were the entire stadium was a morgue. Oh well, will still keep trying to improve it, just a shame we've regressed off the pitch
