Yes, in East London. They gave girls hassle... a mate of mine threatened to smack the s*** outta three of them in Hackney. They called the police on him.
I think they were called "moral advice patrols" or something.

Total tossers. How many were there? Three. How many of these vigilante groups are there? How many people are we talking about that are involved.

I remember when people said all muslims are poppy burners. How many were there? about 5, yet those idiots on the fringes are deliberately held up - it's insinuated that it's a helluva lot more than that when there is no proof.

This peer reviewed report [Link] Understanding who commits
hate crime and why they do it
states that

One study on hate crime offenders identified four broad categories of offender – ‘thrill seekers’, ‘area or territory defenders’, ‘retaliatory offenders’ and ‘mission offenders’.

The socio-demographic profiles of hate crime offenders tend to match the demographics of the population of a given area.

The majority of hate crime offenders in the UK are white, male and under 25.

Hate crime offenders convicted of more serious and violent offences tend to be older.

Contrary to classic portrayals of hate crimes, very few are committed by strangers.

A small proportion of hate crime offenders appear to ‘specialise’ only in hate crime.

I've skim read the report but doesn't really break down racial profiles that much. Still worth a read though.

This report is also an interesting read as well [Link] a home office document called Hate Crime, England and Wales, 2015/16

The chart I've attached shows hate crimes vs 'events'

From [Link] I found:
However, this does not mean that hate crimes are committed by young white men only Roberts
et al’s(2013 , p45) analysis of BCS 22 data found that
just under one - third (31%) of offenders involved in racially motivated hate crime, were from an ethnic
minority background .

Beyond that I haven't been able to find a breakdown of non white british perps.
How much Muslim hate crime perps figure in that 31% is open to interpretation. Personally, i'd like to know if any Buddhists were responsible for any!

Westboro Baptist Church in America? A church of nutters with a membership of 40 people?

That's your response to a point about problems with attitudes towards homosexuality from incoming migrants from the middle east?....let alone attitudes towards Jews and women?

Sometimes Nick you just don't help yourself.

Again, watch Nawaz's video on the 'regressive left' and try to stop being what he is talking about.

Just making the point that bigotry is not just specifically attached to Islam and can come from all angles and all creeds and even shows itself amongst atheists on online footy forums.

I can't imagine for one minute that being gay in a tough town anywhere in the UK would be a walk in the park, can you?

You are all getting your knickers in a twist (well the usual suspects are),I just said that the some of the hate crime could be attributed to the Muslim community, because of their views on homosexuality...and yep the s*** has hit the fan.

Surprise f***ing surprise.

Yeah I totally take your point kermits, but I think the vast majority have moved on from giving them abuse because they are gay.....so what it's their choice and good luck to them, some of them are really funny guys with a great sense of humour.

Seriously though of course some groups get a harder time than others..Has anyone said any different? Why do you feel the need to make this bleedingly obvious point? ..For example ugly fat girls aren't treated as well as pretty young girls and so on. Disabled people are treated differently to able people. Gay people can feel isolated and threatened in certain environments for sure..Young women are paid more than young men...old men more than old women....Different groups have different perceived attributes and hence are treated differently...Still we are pretty good here....In fact I will say that the majority culture's attitude to gay people here makes this is probably one of the better places in the world for homosexuals.....Still, you are quite happy to deflect attention away from cultures where the majority feel very differently towards them.

Socially old people get treated worse than young people...but better in governmental benefits..way better....men receive longer sentences than women for the same crime...the list of how different groups are treated differently is as long as your arm.

Where that treatment is negative for unfair reasons then that is a discussion point worth having...but it's not really what the thread is about.

I don't know if you were exactly referring to me but I would describe myself as a secular humanist rather than an atheist....I don't deny the small chance that the universe could have a creator...But I do reject the notion that this creator could be from any of the religious books I'm aware of....the 'personal gods' that Einstein referred to as being highly unlikely.

If you were looking for a round-about way of calling me a bigot then all I can do is shrug my shoulders at you Kermy....Shall I call you an apologist? I can't be bothered with it...I'd say an attachment to name calling is disappointing but not unexpected.

Seriously and honestly discussing the issues is better.

Did you read that article on the Huffington Post I linked to?

I gotta say those were good cameos. Ah Farther Ted....the 'lovely horse' episode is fondly remembered.
