Does anyone know Mike Rankine or have contact details. Perhaps we can ask the club to play one of staffie's (and mine) favourite pieces of music (from Supertramp's Crime of the Century)?

Good news - Palace will pay a tribute to staffie at half-time and play one of his favourite tracks. If anyone has a story or some info on staffie that would be nice to include in a short tribute please post it here - I'll aim to send something across at 8.00pm tonight.

that is great news, if anything is selected from Crime of the century,(one of my fave albums as well) it has to be, If everyone was listening, simply for the lyric " oh no, please no, don't let the curtain fall", am absolutely gutted i won't be there tomorrow, will be quite an emotional day methinks

Great idea - I will request that track.

Please spread the word that a half time tribute will be happening for staffie.

Like many of us, I've thought about staffie a lot this week. My wife, who really doesn't get football, but just sympathises with me occasionally, ended up worried about staffie after I'd told her about his message on Saturday and she was sad too at the news. I've just been listening to "Crime of the Century" as a kind of tribute/ mark of respect to staffie and realised what a fine piece of music it is; so once again, I'm indebted to staffie for sharing something with me I might otherwise have missed. Things like this & all the memories people leave behind them when they pass away prove the person doesn't go completely from our lives at death; good things are still received & remembered. RIP staffie- and well done to our club for marking staffie's passing. This site remains a true pleasure to me & many others: thanks to all those who sustain it.

So sorry to hear the passing of someone that I never met,but always respected.
Thank you for your help and modesty mate.
I hope that whoever steps upto the plate to take your place-and they will-, will have the same class as you.

I didn't know staffie but he helped me with a couple of techy things and seemed like a nice and smart guy. RIP and sympathies to all his friends and relatives.
