The only thing missing from our team apart from another CB is a prolific scorer and Austin fits the bill. If he wants to stay in London we seem to be his only option

Personal view is that it would be more useful to get some more defensive players in as cover and to give competition to Ward and Delaney - rumours around for players like Hanley and Santon. Ward has looked a bit vulnerable this season

If we can get £6m for Gayle, £4m for Murray and £1m for Campbell. QPR take £10-12m and Guedioura for Austin. Get it done. As said before, a lot of IF's...

Would rather have Austin anyday above Wickham or Bamford but I don't think we would have signed those two if we were still interested in him unfortunately.

Personally, I don't think Wickham and Austin are interchangeable. They're different forwards who do different jobs in different situations and I think even if we'd bought Austin first, we'd still have been interested in Wickham. You need to have alternatives to suit different games and different stages of a game. Wickham is a target man who holds the ball up, brings others into play, and scores a few. Austin is a pure goalscorer; not the same thing.

If Austin is similar to anyone, it's Bamford (although Bamford is a more versatile player overall) and if Austin does come, it's Bamford who will likely lose playing time and who we might not have brought in had Austin come first. But the bottom line is that a four forward rotation of Austin, Wickham, Bamford and Chamakh would be immeasurably stronger than Chamakh, Murray, Gayle and Campbell.

If we got Austin what an amazing upgrade in a little over a year. Sure up the defence and we might just have a decent side

This is mental. Charlie Austin is a target man, as is Wickham, Murray and Chamakh (traditionally, although his role with us changed somewhat). He is absolutely nowhere near a similar player to Bamford. That kid is quick, like to get the ball deep and can actually play the number 10 role.

If we were to get Austin, which I doubt seeing we got Wickham, then Murray will go.

I think quite a few clubs might make last minute panic bids for Austin - there's a fair few that look in dire need of a goalscorer already.

Bottom line is, there are 4 maybe 5 clubs interested in Austin. he is just an out and out goalscorer which is what we need. Bamford scores goals but he wont be given the 90mins every week. wickham doesnt score many but puts himself about alot, same as murray. We need Austin not only for the goals but also to make Wickham take the next step up in his career and start to not only score goals but compete for the 9 position.

I think we'll definitly bid for Austin if Muzza and gayle leave.

We are in the box seat as Austin wants to stay in London and

He won't go to West ham arfter what Sullivan said about him

This was the signing i wanted most during the summer.

We want a near on 20 goal a season striker here he is.
