There’s something not right with cherry picking one and one only indicator that suits and maintains the bad story and fear at the time, and then not reporting the falling and almost nothing to report hospitalisations and deaths but the amount of infections are being mentioned everywhere, even if it’s about 4 people in a workplace. There’s a lot that isn’t rational but the problem is the country is fvcking thick, unable to critically think and innumerate that none of this gets questioned or is allowed to by lefties and luvvies dominating the tv where it all begins. There is no perfect measure. There are now people dying of covid-19 who are excluded from being recognised as dying from covid-19. That is to say that whatever measure is taken will be off to a certain degree. The rest of the UK had a different approach to England. If there was some deep state style conspiracy going on I'm pretty sure they could've done it across the whole of the UK. We broadly know what the numbers are. We have a planet full of data. Viewing any contribution you disagree with as representative of what you've called a 'nation of pussies' or indicative that the country is 'fvcking thick' isn't helpful. People have different perspectives. Yours seem to centre on an angle where any concern about any aspect of this pandemic is either a lie, or indicative that the people of this country are weak or simple minded. This is obviously your way of dealing with the pandemic, but just because something is 'blinding obvious' to you it doesn't actually mean it's some kind of unquestionable fact by default. People like cryrst and others are just decent people with concerns about their family members, not a launch pad to slag the country off every other post. It's a tough time for people, and being fairminded is preferable to condensing everything into such a perpetually unnuanced outlook or using interactions as a way to attack your own country. This is not the time to turn on your country. Edited by BlueJay (14 Aug 2020 10.39pm)

I think the idea is that governments find cash expensive to produce and for businesses to manage and transport. Going down the conspiracy route is the element of tracking people via card transactions. No idea how feasible or likely this might be. What"s going to happen if you fancy visiting a nice 21 year old "model" in a hotel who only accepts cash?(i"m asking for a friend)

At a time like this, her job must be minimum wage hell. How brave, intimidating a young girl obeying the law and trying to create an environment that more people feel comfortable in.

Just a thought, certainly wasn"t I tend to be of the mind that they would take more precautions with a prime minister, so you're most likely right that he was probably surrounded by people in a worse state. Not to say that he wasn't very ill of course. In any case, for all his faults and occasionally bufoonery I'm glad he's back to the helm.

Let's hope she doesn't say that she only does contactless Ha ha, good one, i would be gutted , i mean my friend would! I like having the queens head in my pocket, am not a fan of cards, won"t be spending any card cash at selhurst ever again(never have), always use cashexcept for buying anything on the phone or a holiday online, it"s the thin end of the wedge card payment. London taxi drivers lose about 5% of every fare paid by card to the bank, they have to pay for the customers card privilage, not sure how that sneaked in but it did, soon every shop/restaurant/pub will be doing the same.
