I would be very interested to see the verified statistics that confirm the claim that 25% of us are to the right of mainstream conservatism. Or that GBNews is “milk toast”! Both sound like complete bs to me. As does the idea that the msm are no longer independent. Outlets owned by media barons were never independent. Where they differ to alternative media is their editorial and legal controls, which ensure they are much less likely to just invent stories to support a position. They spin. They deliberately mislead. Some are scurrilous. Many I wouldn’t touch. Taken together though they are much more likely to present the truth than any of the unregulated “alternative media”. Something that, to my mind, is of no more value than the right wing loud mouth down the pub. Or on a football web forum. By far the most reliable source of information, untainted by personal or proprietary opinions, are the public service broadcasters. Their only masters are the truth and us.

I’m no more advised than you as to the truth of the article! Although having been to the border towns and seen the difficulties faced I do have some intimate knowledge. If you have ventured over here from Cornwall I will stand corrected. Again… we believe what we want to and are feed by the media like chickens!

"The Nation" newspaper is left wing ideology wokie trash that licks sleepy joes behind. I wouldn't waste my time on it. Well there’s a surprise. A progressive, intelligent magazine is described in terms worthy of Trump himself!

Seems there is a media blackout on the Texas border at the moment on mainstream media. Only social media seems to be reporting it.

The problem with being too close to anything is perspective. You cannot see the bigger picture. Only what is in your face.,

It’s never been disputed that the personal political position of journalists tends to be liberal. Given their background and subsequent experience that’s hardly surprising. Personal and professional are two different things. My friend who was a senior guy on the financial pages of the Express and the Mail was no lover of right wing politics but he was a consummate professional. He wrote in the paper’s style and following the direction of its owners.

The last few years really showed up media bias and who their paymasters are.

Silly and pointless compared to trying to convince people on a Crystal Palace fansite that a presidential candidate in another country isn't a good choice? OK. Convincing anyone on this section of this Crystal Palace fansite of anything they don’t already agree with is near to impossible. A deterrent which doesn’t have to be used is certainly the best option. Ensuring people understand why requires it to have been used, if only as a demonstration, at some time.

It's already dangerous enough.
