Interesting that Spain thinks The Falklands should be Argentinian…presumably they will be returning their enclaves in North Africa to Morocco etc. The reality is if you really want something - get better armed forces or shut up.

The Falklands is just an excuse for the Argentinians to deflect attention away from their own incompetence especially their economy. Since they invaded just about every leader since uses it when they are in trouble. Economically Argentina could be a great country but they just lurch from one crisis to the next, left or right it doesn't matter. If they had not invaded the Falklands I would not have had a problem with some kind of arrangement with them. Apparently there are natural resources in the seas around the Islands which is what they really want e.g. oil. We could have made a deal with them to split the profits but not after blood has been spilt.

That is a disgraceful piece of misrepresentation. For reasons I have already explained. It is encouraging others to misunderstand what actually happens. Probably written by someone who has never ever been to to the region, let alone discuss things with those involved.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

Desperate? Maybe. Depressed and lonely? Much more often. I knew someone who had become very depressed after an abusive marriage and nasty divorce which left him homeless. He was also estranged from his family. On advice from a friend he decided to make a fresh start in the Philippines. He got into the ex pat community, met and married a local lady who worked as a waitress in a restaurant they used. He acquired a new family who treated him like a king. His wife both cared for him and fiercely defended him to others. He was reborn. His confidence was restored and although he could still get down whenever the past was discussed he became happy and contented. They weren’t rich, but had enough. They didn’t come back to the uk but made their life there.

No one is disputing that some might enter into these relationships with the best of philanthropic intentions but whether that's the case with the majority is doubtful. I don’t suppose any enter with philanthropic intentions at the core. Most are based on mutual need, which with respect and care develops into affection and love.

Looks like a genuine organisation. But obviously not one whose knowledge outweighs one person's opinion. Probably extreme right wing Daily Mail reading conspiracy theorists with vested interests to protect.

'I will turbo-charge growth' - Jeremy Hunt. OBR sharply downgrades growth for the next 3 years, the Bank of England starting to blame Brexit. The shadow chancellor landing heavy blows here.

'The chart I'd be most worried about as a Tory MP? The disaster of what's happened to household incomes: 3.5% fall between the last election and the coming one is the largest reduction in real living standards since ONS records began in the 1950s'. Torsten Bell, CEO of the Resolution Foundation. It's not fooling anybody, commentators at the BBC Sky quickly spot how the tax burden is in fact rising. Hunt looks mediocre, and he is.
