It's inevitable we are going to lose our best players. Only the Top-Of-the-Tree clubs (Real Madrid/Barca/ManC) keep their best talent.

The trick is to not sell them all at once, have a team/system where we are not reliant on a handful of stars and slowly build to get to a level where the 'selling on' of players is minimised.
That's easier said than done.

I have no hard Feelings toward Olise. Good luck to him. I shall be interested to see how he does with Bayern. Let use his money wisely and build for the future.

"It was a Team effort, I guess it took all players working together to lose this one"

Have no issue with Olise moving on, the fee is disappointing but if the sell on clause is correct then that's some comfort at least.

He's been brilliant for us and I genuinely believe he's better than Zaha, has been a pleasure to watch him and just a pity he was a bit injury prone.

However, we'll replace him and hopefully will unearth another gem, if we haven't already got one with the likes of Franca.

It's a great selling point for potential signings anyway, reckon we must be such an attractive proposition right now.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

For potential youngsters in the championship looking for premier lift, Palace must stand out as one of the best clubs to head for. For Philogene for instance we must be more attractive than Everton or Ipswich.
Bringing in exciting young blood looks like being our path forward. The Olise to Bayern deal for us is fantastic as we bank 100% of the cash immediately. Such is the advantage of a release clause.
I am expecting two or three more incomers now, especially if Eze goes. If they handle it right, this could put us in a really strong place.

I know! On arrival, we dubbed him 'Marco Goal-o', but we were soon disillusioned. (Although he did score a winner at Anfield, as I recall).

I knew him as 'Gabbiadonkey'

But luckily, it hasn't taken us long to get over it.

It was between him and a young fella doing okay at Saints as I remember. But I'm sure Mr Shearer wouldn't have been a patch on MG.

Honestly, i couldn't care less about Olise he was aways going to go. I think it's imperative to tie down Oliver Glasner to a long term contract now , he is far more important to the team than any player IMHO .

Did you have to remind us YT . . . Marco Gabbiadini.

I felt a bit sorry for him at the time, Wrighty was a tough act to follow and we kept banging the balls up to Gabbiadini in the same way we did for Wrighty to chase and he just didn’t have the pace, shame because he was a proven goalscorer at the time

Thats the issue, he only played 19 games last season due to injury. His talent unfortunately makes him a target to be brought down by the opposition.
His release clause of £60m seems fictional in relation to fee received.
Chance now for Franca to step up with Glasners guidance.

I'm sure Brian Deane was another one in the frame too.

In 1964 I was distraught when Bill Glazier went to Coventry (for what was a very good fee for a goalkeeper in those days) but that opened the way for John Jackson - and that didn’t turn out too badly. As one door closes another one opens, it is the way it is and the way it has always been. Michael Olise is a great talent, I have enjoyed watching him, but we move on.

Good perspective there.

Didn't we receive money plus AJ for Clinton Morrison, as part of that deal? Didn't work out too badly and I was gutted when CM left.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!
