With respect, I have never suggested Dyche as a replacement for Hodgson.

In actual fact I have asserted there is no vacancy and unlikely to be one for the foreseeable future.
I have considered the possibility that should we retain our place in the PL this season and Hodgson has a desire to continue he could well be given the opportunity to do so.

For reasons of continuity, may be in the Club's best interests to extend Roy's stay for at least another year.Probably our best start for many a year and at last,we have a new attacking style with Ezre starting.
Roy at the end of his contract can then enter the political arena and show his true leadership qualities, like Biden!!

13 pts from 8 games.
Last season we actually attained 14 pts from the same number of games, the season before 10 pts.

I am more than happy with points over playing "attractive" football

If i wanted easy on the eye, pleasant football id follow man city, liverpool etc...

its always one or the other with palace...good football and no points or s***e football and points on the board! never at the same time.

lets be realistic here once hodgson goes i would put a heavy bet on us going down within a season!

Something of an over-simplified statement. We've had both at the same time - the Venable years for starters - although I accept such a combination has not happened as often as we would have liked.

Whilst Hodgson has steadied things for us, his departure will only lead to relegation if we replace him with a duff manager who tries to play a style of football the squad aren't ready for. As Hodgson, himself has acknowledged, we now have the best squad during his tenure at the club (and in my view, since the PL was formed). We also have a promising academy. Too often, we Palace fans can talk up other average/poor PL clubs.

No ordure directed against Roy Hodgson after the splendid Leeds victory for obvious reasons.
Should we be defeated at Burnley, I suspect he will once again face shot and shell.
They will prove a tough nut to crack.

I think if we show some attacking intent at Burnley, most on here will say "We had a go but it wasn't our day". If we go with defence only in mind, the critics will return. Rightly to my mind, because we have the players to attack and beat Burnley. IMO

Burnley will not be able to sustain any long periods of pressure what with confidence being low and the desperation to get themselves out of this mess, I expect them to give it a real go but we will be far too strong on the break for them to cope for the whole 90 mins, since their 0-1 win over us they have won only three more, drawn six and lost eight, scoring twelve times and letting in twenty six.

I predict three points and a third straight win at their place.

Just for clarity I wasn't predicting a loss. I was predicting criticism if we just defend.

Burney have hardly been awash with goals, only scoring 1 in their last 6 PL games.

I just believe it will be a far harder challenge than perhaps many expect.

With the exception of the clubs right at the top of the league, they haven't really been conceding either.

I suspect that we are going to have a very ugly game of football.

Every game is a cup final for Burnley at the moment which will make it a tight match. They are desperate for points. Having said that, they have scored so few goals that 1 for us could win us the game, so I’m going for a narrow victory.
