Tomorrow you’ll probably post that we weren’t ready for promotion. Look, most teams get their ground ready and then get promoted. Do you still not understand that if you’re waiting to get a good team to rebuild a stand or stadium then you’ll be waiting forever, or are you so attached to a 100 year old shed you want it to stay? We need it for revenue to compete. Thinking we’ll be able to compete being behind by £xx million is naive. It has to be done or we’re just like Pompey were but a bit on the safer side. so are you saying we should get relegated, do the ground up and then get promoted?, that would be really great, we lose all our income from being in PL, we end up in the championship, which is harder to get out of, upwards more than ever, and worse still, have a flash ground, half empty and then we go in administration yet again! Bournemouth have already done better than us in PL with an even smaller ground, ditto Brighton and Watford!

Brighton’s ground is bigger than ours and Bournemouth are operating at a loss, something that isn’t necessary if, as I’m trying to explain. you increase your revenue. I don’t know a lot about Watford’s. Even Parish said we need to increase revenue with more seats and more corporate revenue, which is where the big revenue is. Good luck.

Disappointing but Chelsea’s Itailian manager has them incredibly well drilled when they haven’t got the ball and they gave us absolutely no quarter. We stayed in the game but when you play against multi- million top six teams you have to take your chance when it comes. Wickham should have scored - everyone goes home happy. Unfortunately he snatched at it and didn’t. We’re suffering from a lack of attacking options which means teams know our set up and threat from the start. Wickham looks like he’s not up to starting a game and the other alternatives aren’t good enough. Alternative is we have a right go and lose 4-0. With regard to Meyer I thought Roy was right to not to start him and he’s looking a huge disappointment.

I often think that I watching a different game to some on here. Meyer hadn't played for quite a few months before he joined us and probably still isn't match fit. There are some occasions when he is anonymous but most of the times I've seem him play he seems to have a touch of class about him, especially his link up play with Zaha

again, both to blame. We have desperately needed a striker for 2 years now and not to sign one is borderline criminal. Roy’s tactics are a head scratcher for all of us. Negative, no plan b, no changes, no subs...etc etc...I like Roy, but he is only good a single level. We need a coach/manager who can adapt/change as the match goes on...unfortunately Roy is not that man.

Think you’re being a bit sensitive if you think that’s a slagging off. Wickham looks understandably rusty and he would strugggle if he started a game. If he buries his chance we draw although I’d have perhaps introduced him sooner. The game I was at Chelsea worked very hard, were well organised and didn’t allow us to play. They even made it difficult for our gk to clear the ball at times although It’s disappointing we didn’t try to exploit Luiz a bit as he looks suspect if teams get at him. Our late flurry was as much about them sitting deep as anything. Although tidy on the ball Max Meyer has been very inconsistent, anonymous for long periods and thus far hasn’t produced at big moments in the game.

Both are at fault but predominantly the board are wasting our potential as a club Roy is a manager who is happy to accept mediocrity. That's why he doesn't make changes until it's too late - we're 6 points clear of the bottom three, so we can afford to lose this one. It doesn't really matter. But that's exactly why he was brought in. Parish & co could not be making it plainer that 17th is OK. 17th is success in fact. And he's got a manager that is perfectly happy to play his part. Why do you think we played a reserve team against Championship Middlesbrough when a League Cup Quarter Final was up for grabs? (which ended up being at home to f***ing BURTON) Because that wasn't what was important to the club? Trophies? A cup run? Ha! Who cares? Perpetual mid table is a perfect alternative. What with all that TV money it'll bring in. It goes as far as individual games too. As much as I loved our win against Man City, I feel like it makes our poor performances even more frustrating now we've proved what we're capable of. By contrast, Chelsea were poor today. We could easily have beaten a second top six side in as many weeks. Instead we leave our best attacking midfielder on the bench and play a winger up front. In the middle. On his own. Try and guess how that went? Second best for the entire 90 minutes. And it's not the first time we've created f*** all all games either. We are quite possibly the most boring side in the entire league. We wake up when dropping into the bottom three is on the line, after that it's straight back to sleep. Rinse and repeat until the end of the season. And how do we plan on solving our striker problem? How do we plan on solving the one problem that's keeping us from pushing for a top half finish and possibly even Europe? Dominic Solanke, a kid with a whopping 1 goal his whole Premier League career. DO YOU EVER LEARN YOU IDIOTS!? Bottomline, we have got no vision. Zero. "Just stay up and hope for the best". That's the closest thing we have to the plan. And that mindset will eventually lead to our demise. Zaha, Wan-Bissaka and the rest of our good players will leave in time, leaving us with the dregs. And then we'll sink like a stone. That's what happened to Sunderland. That's what happened to Wigan. That's what happened to Aston Villa. That's what happened to every single team that was happy to just be better than three teams every season. And unless we turn this sinking ship around, that's exactly what'll happen to us. Good post. I've had a season ticket for over 30 years and for me this is the worst ever season at Selhurst, even worse than when we didn't win at home until April - we at least scored some goals then! I missed the Liverpool game (holidays) and the Burnley win (car wouldn't start) so in 8 games I've seen 1 goal in open play. We are just so negative (except the Cardiff game). Yesterday was even worse for me than Southampton, Wolves or Newcastle. No shots until the 86 minute is just not acceptable. Waiting nearly 20 mins after they scored before bringing on Wickham is inexcusable. I'm sure most of us would prefer to lose 2-1 than 1-0 - at least then we've had something to cheer. Yesterday seemed a game too far for many of our players. Some, like Luca, looked tired whilst Zaha looked totally uninterested seeming happy to just walk around for long stretches. Doesn't help that 5 our our players have started every game this season and we've only had I think 17 different players start any of our 20 games. We lost Loftus-Cheek, Cabaye, Sako, Lee, Delaney from our squad in the summer and only brought in Kouyate and Meyer. Hodgson won't give any of our youngsters a go - Kirby, Woods, McGregor, Daly have all made the bench in the last year or so but none have been given a chance. Williams and Kaikai seem to have disappeared - two players who could possibly make a difference from the bench - yet we have Puncheon there week after week, and Ayew who hasn't scored a single goal. Winning at Man City was almost a bad result for us as it's probably given Hodgson more time when he really needs to go. Really depressing.

OK, fair enough, but you said Wickham looks like he shouldn't be starting a game,,well he hasn't, this was just his 2nd game as a late sub, you can hardly expect him to be match fit, as for Meyer, i think he is very promising, maybe no big moments, but improving all the time, probably our best attacking mid field player. IMHO

IMHO No probs mate game of opinions. The point I was trying to make is that Wickham is the only CF we have available who is near good enough but he isn’t ready to start games. Our opponents know we’re unlikely to have a target man or little physical / aerial threat from the outset and have luxury of setting up accordingly. I’ve read a lot of people saying after the game that we should have taken the game to Chelsea, and I agree we were very unadventurous, but who are the players that are going to do this apart from Zaha ? When we played them last year we were forced to improvise by Benteke’s injury and took them by surprise playing Wilf (who was returning from injury) and Townsend up front.

When I saw Newcastle do that against Chelsea and predictably lose I said I hoped I never saw a Palace team show so little enterprise, spirit and positivity at 0 - 0. Well that was worse.
