Well, to be fair....Trump may be problematic on civil liberties if this stuff on net neutrality is true. 'The Muslim ban', is a security issue in my book but we could discuss that. As for the morons on the left or right to hassle and bully organizations and individuals into being sacked or leaving their jobs I have nothing but contempt for them. I don't support that at all. Sure, in some areas future hiring should be looked at....especially in education regarding the humanities and the broadcast media.....but again, each situation is it's own arena. People should be encouraged to act professionally and reminded if they skate the law......I would like a more even distribution left and right and centralist in most situations. Colin Kaepernick wasn't playing regularly anyway and was aging. Of course teams taking him on was a hot potato......You seriously think that if this guy was any good he wouldn't be playing? He gets huge support from the progressives and is a millionaire....boo hoo for him. I certainly criticised him for politicising sport....I never said he should be sacked...was he sacked? Damore was sacked from a job he was performing every day. He was responding to a highly politicized job environment that he even tried to help.....he isn't even particularly right wing as I can see....these are not the same but they share the problems of being over reacted too....that I agree with....but that is the nature of media and polarization. Edited by Stirlingsays (30 Nov 2017 3.21pm) Rather than commenting on the one of two things I don't agree with, yes I broadly agree with much of this. The same issues broadly exist in one form or another on the left and right, it is all a matter of what we choose to focus on. It doesn't help though that someone as extreme as Trump intentionally picks at these social divisions. When you really think about it, a non reaction to his behaviour would be much more concerning than the reaction he has received.

Completely not my experience of University. Most of the lecturers and professors I met were liberal, apolitical or conservative. Only our sociology tutor was really left wing (and he was doing his post-grad). I guess some were probably labour left wing (this was the 90s). The Sociology tutor however would have filled many stereotypes, turning up in his PLO neck scarf, combat boots and trousers, covered with all manner of right on patches... No one liked him. The rest, very middle of the roads and very pedestrian.

You supported punching supposed 'Nazis' in the street for many weeks on here. Edited by Stirlingsays (30 Nov 2017 3.29pm) Show the problem we are facing, but not via an islamaphobic far right group. But if you are fine with one of the most powerful on the planet promoting a far right group for his own political ends, then so be it. I am not.

Objectivity is always better.....being a hot head myself it's a lesson I've had slowly drummed into me by life. It's the better part of our natures. I'm guilty of enjoying the reaction to Trump....I spend a lot of time attacking the over emotional reactions.....but do I think it's helpful or better for society. No....not really. Adults shouldn't act like children....and the fact that they do is partly why we have Trump in the first place.....however, to be fair...this is a forum and a place to vent steam as well, so we get a partial pass, perhaps. So for myself I suggest that Trump should be respected for his position and encouraged and supported to take his role responsibly.....but attacking him publicly, like May and other Tories have done is extremely fool hardy and likely to backfire. Diplomacy for me. Edited by Stirlingsays (30 Nov 2017 3.48pm)

Trump is Trump....I have more concern for those being thrown off of roofs than what Trump retweets. Perhaps you should stop worrying about Trump so much......he isn't affecting your life.

I would say that a majority of even Americans can see that, and the midterms will demonstrate it.

? It isn't because they are Freemasons. It's a form of Islam, they are Muslims. It's just Muslims you don't like. They are mixed in everywhere. You are just trying to mangle the argument....no one says all Muslims. Edited by Stirlingsays (30 Nov 2017 5.15pm)
