Everyone knows. It's like asking if everyone in Slough has a genuine passport and genuine driving licence. The numbers never added up and obviously still don't. It will likely come out one day. If people are able to forge passports and, more importantly visas given the biometrics we insist on, I would be very surprised. In the past I am sure it was attempted and that some succeeded.

The subject of border control (or lack there of) will be what decides the next election! Media coverage (cover up) has now run out of ways to down play this policy disaster! Middle America will now decide the result which I believe will be bad news for Joe! I’m sure the idyllic beaches and guest houses in Cornwall would not be so attractive if 10 million illegal and undocumented persons (size of Scotland, Wales and NI combined) decided to descend on the county with no ways of stopping them! Why would illegals in large numbers come to one of the most deprived areas of the UK, where wages are low and many jobs seasonal? This is a holiday and retirement destination. Beaches and beauty don’t put bread on the table.

And once they've been processed what happens? As we both know walls are no deterrent. Having a high bar for a successful asylum application, swift processing and guaranteed return to origin for failure ought to be possible. That should deter many. The USA is by far the strongest player in the region. They have the power to make that happen. Match that with economic support and assistance in rooting out the gangs and corruption and you have a strategy to reduce the problem. Offshore production into Mexico and the rest of the region and you provide the jobs without upsetting the locals.

The policies are in place (in the main) to handle illegal entries into the country but NEVER enforced due to the sheer volume of border crossings! Court dates a decade out, hotels and schools commandeered for temporary housing etc have made the country unsafe and economically challenged! Living in Texas no one disapproves more of the illegal invasion than the legal immigrants who respectfully went through the immigration process as did I. If you think the 10 million who have walked through the border are here to live the American dream then I think you are mistaken! This is a self made cluster!!!!

Having left the UK in 2007 after watching palace games from the 1960’s (on my neighbors shoulders in the holmesdale) I do try to be open minded to the comments about Roy, Steve and the team because my interactions are now from afar! Although I have seen every PL minute (they don’t show the FA cup in the US unless you pay extra). Now having spent many many days in places such as El Paso, Del Rio, midland and Austin, I have seen first hand the devastation to these towns that now resemble Beirut or Sana (yes I’ve been to both cities as well) that 10,000,000 border crossings have caused. I am thankful to governor Abbott for highlighting this catastrophe and spreading the pain so even the right wing media have struggled to sweep this one under the carpet! I’m not sure when one says enough is enough?

Trump has won easily in New Hampshire. Cue the usual torrent of squid-ink from certain quarters.
