You talk very well Rudi. My main concerns are: 1. Scientific advice has been politically manipulated, mainly over concerns with the economy. I guess the only thing now, is to suck it and see. Chris Whitty is the reason we get cities or regions closed down because of 20 odd infections or a rise in infections from, wait for it, more testing. The positive tests from tests carried out has flatlined. They’re just testing more people, not finding rises in infections all over the place. You could say the medical ‘experts’ have got carried away with themselves without any thought of economic consequences, which include damage to health, and of course the 50% drop in heart attack admissions and 50% drop in cancer referrals. The whole thing is farcical and why I say the vulnerable should be shielding while everyone else repairs the damage and saves their future. I’ve said this to several oldies. Why they’ve been encouraged to and feel safe now and going forward because of face cloths is negligent advice from the government and loads of others. Keep your bubble limited and maintain high standards of hygiene. The winter is only going to be more farcical.

She’s like a child playing Covid policy top trumps. Her record on everything is terrible. Scotland’s care home problems were even worse than England. I doubt Scotland could afford to pay for the costs of furloughing they are relying on the English taxpayer as usual. Boris should remind the Bravehearts of that.

The scots don't need any reminding from Johnson and neither does anywhere else in the world. He is like a sick old relative hanging on, unable to understand he is not wanted only grudgingly for the money. That's all that's left of our influence in the World.

Slightly off topic but I am hearing through my union that the Transport industry (Bus Companies ) Are asking the government to extend the Furlough scheme until January. Wouldn't have thought the government would be able to afford this ? Thoughts

Wouldn't have thought the government would be able to afford this ? Thoughts The Tory Government have repeatedly depleted public (transport) services. In rural areas bus services/train services are unviable without Government monies, If you were going to write a farce, this would be looking like something unbelievable, to be rejected.

So I reject your assertion as a cheap, unwarranted and personal slur.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

Wouldn't have thought the government would be able to afford this ? Thoughts Subsiding the transport companies is one thing paying for their employees to sit at home is quite another. The sooner we end the furlough scheme the better. It maybe that there will be companies that need extra support but that is very different from the furlough scheme which I think is now being abused by some people. Originally we were told to stay at home which was fair enough but apart from the sectors that this still applies to all fit people should be back at work.
