What pressure has been and is being applied to remain MPs of whom there are very few now. Change their minds did they? The sooner this brexit is away from our shores the better. Let the 'coup de grace' be administered in Europe.

That's good to hear Hoof. So if there is a second referendum and Remain wins by say 51.9% to 48.1% I won't expect to hear any mullarkey There won't be a 2nd referendum on the EU. There might be a 2nd Scottish Independence referendum though and I might just move in with my friends in Edinburgh to register and vote YES..... then move back down here again!

British judges interpret British law and in a parliamentary democracy decide that Parliament is sovereign. Controversial? This is nothing to do with voting leave or remain and everything to do with honouring our democratic processes and opposing the arbitrary power of the executive. Of course the conservatives could have put in a clause into the referendum bill that would have made all this unnecessary. I wonder why the likes of May, IDS, Boris and Gove weren't arguing to make the result binding. Miller deserves a dame hood at the very least for services against democracy. She only raised this issue for personal gain, hoping that her actions would prompt a 2nd referendum and stir the sh1t with the Jocks/Paddys. All she has done has lined the pockets of 8 or so senior Judges with their extortionate fees paid for by our hard earned taxes. She hasn't stopped or delayed article 50... infact her meddling has stiffened the resolve of the Brexiteers and made the Remoaners realise they cannot deny the will of the people. A damehood.... dream on..... she should be sent the Judges' bills the silly interfering cow.

Out of interest, 523 pages in, has anyone changed their mind about how they'd voted having read a comment on here that opened their eyes? Not that I am suggesting for one moment that this forum represents a significant enough cross section of society to extrapolate that any further.

A little confused on what this is supposed to achieve. Court case and appeal to force the government to go through parliament (fair enough outcome) but all that means is that government will now draw up a very small white paper and it will be passed in days, so all that has happened is to possibly delay the process by a few days? Why didn't the government just raise the white paper anyway - it could have been in by now and save all the expense of the case and appeal.

And also, why aren't the liberals up in arms about the use of white paper? Seems well racist to me.

Definitely not its Mrs May who should foot bill for a quite unnecessary court case and appeal and not the public. Mrs. May was caught out trying to bypass parliament so much for returning sovereignity there I thought that was the main aim of leave? Will be interesting to see if she has to go before a committee later on and explain. Wouldn't like to estimate how big the bill will be.

If anyone has lined the lawyers pockets it is May who not only disobeyed the law but pursued it to appeal when they appear to have been privately reporting that they expected to lose. Ultimately Miller was right wasnt she.

The whole thing has been pointless, given the backing May will get to push the white paper through, but it was a poorly thought out idea to pursue it in the court of appeal
