When people say they expect Hodgson to see out the season as manager, I can see where they are coming from.
However, let's just say we lose at Everton on Monday (which would be no surprise) and then fail to win at home to Burnley, leaving us say a point outside the relegation zone?
Some may say this is unduly negative and pessimistic, but surely Parish will have to have a realistic alternative primed if this occurs (and I don't mean Paddy Mc as caretaker).

You have know idea how the long ball system works, it is about keeping the ball in the opponents half, that is the reason why in Patrick's post Pulis first question is does anyone have a long throw, it is not about elbows and thugs, when the ball goes over the full back he is pressured into giving a throw away, this is why Wimbledon and Coppell's Palace left the grass longer so it wouldn't roll out over the goal line, it was a premeditated system that the big clubs hated, and we had our most successful seasons

Neither do you. You have as much coaching experience as I have. Less from reading your comments.

You seem such a genius that has thought of tactics that no one else has. I wonder why that is?
I'm guessing it is because there is not a chance in hell that your long ball theory would work in the modern game. But we'll never know because there is not a manager on the planet stupid enough to try it these days.
Plus you and people like you talk about Roy Hodgson's style of play being boring, negative and uninspiring. That's your opinion and you are entitled to it. In fact in many ways I dont disagree with you but how much of the ball do you honestly think we would see if we played the Crazy Gang way? The answer is the same as Wimbledon used to. Very little.

Why would a league with just 5 super clubs competing for the title be ‘over’?

The Saudi league is already starting to collapse on itself with rubbish attendances and players struggling to settle - I can’t see that being a big thing too much longer.

It takes a lot more than funding to make a great league, and that applies to both the PL and the Saudi league.

I absolutely disagree with this.

Having been at the Al-Narrs vs Al-Hilal, Old Firm type derby in November, with a full stadium, the place was rocking and the fans mental.

Then again for the Riyadh Seasonn Cup between Al-Nassr, Al-Halal and Inter Miami.
The 2 Riyadh sides utterly humiliated Inter Miami, in front of packed crowds, even without Ronaldo or Neymar entering the pitch at all. Inter Miami losing 4-3 (a very flattering result for them) then 6-0. Just show's how rubbish the American sides are.

I'm afraid, agree with their business model or not, they're here to stay. However their league is a little like the WSL, with a few decent sides and a huge gap between them and the rest.

I think if Parish had someone already lined up then Roy would have been gone by now. Others have gone for less. If the game scenario you suggest becomes reality and the board decides Roy has to go, who else is there at this late stage? Paddy until the end of the season? That's going to be fun...

Apparently McKenna doesn't want to join while Ipswich are still in with a shout at promotion.

For me, we should wait until the season is over and then go all in for Edwards of Luton.

We would be a perfect step for him, near the top of his realistic possibilities.

He'd get us playing front foot, physical football but still be pragmatic when needed.

What more can he realistically achieve there?

Thats a pretty good shout. Edwards has done the almost impossible at Luton. As for Mcenna, I think we'd have a chance with him even if they got promotion. Its a choice between an established club with better players and a newly promoted one that is going to be one of the favourites for instant relegation. If thinking of my career I know what I'd choose. Can totally understand why he wants to see through this season with Ipswich though. A promotion looks good on the CV. If he fails its still not the end of the World.

This is a tough one for Parish.

Normally, sustained poor results and a dose of fan disquiet do for a manager. In this case, there are other very significant factors.

The big one is injuries and the timing of returns for those players. We know that our performances are far better with Olise and Eze on the field, and perhaps just Eze and Guehi returning will improve things.
Along with that, there seems to be serious doubt about the calibre of any replacement available at this stage of the season and the knock on effect to next season.
Finally, as we are not currently in the relegation zone, there is a level of uncertainty as to how much panic is warranted.

This isn't just a question of Hodgson bad. It is a perfect storm for indecision.

Good points, I've thought for a while now (with both my brain cells) that waiting till the summer is the right thing to do if the right man is available then. I personally dont rate Cooper at all and the media seem to talk him up because he is free. Seems pretty obvious the owners aren't keen or he'd have been approached by now.
I was told as far back as last summer that Paolo Fonseca was keen and the feeling from Palace was mutual. It may be true, it may not be but I think its quite telling that Fonseca will not be free of his contract with Lille until this summer.

Perhaps a touch of realism.
If Roy sees out his contract, how do we know that we will not be in the Championship next season.
Lose to both Everton and Burnley, leaving us in a very precarious position.
Why not a short term contract to a fire fighter,eg.Sam or Pardew?? Desperate situations require desperate measures and not complacency!!

Wow, well, er, thank you. He can't help it, he has said it himself, he actually has 2 brain cells, which means he must be about 13 & I was right, he's on half term.

God help us all if he joins the HF.

I'm guessing it is because there is not a chance in hell that your long ball theory would work in the modern game. But we'll never know because there is not a manager on the planet stupid enough to try it these days.

Yes, i can see Lazy was correct, after all
