For a start we don’t know if his publicity is true, or tittle tattle, not a complete player , but with a bit more consistency a more than useful addition. If people are going to compare him to an inform Zaha, it could be hard for him and them, but on his day ,played to his strong points can be very effective, as long as we don’t try and turn him into a central striker could work out well.

Agreed.. I wouldn’t be taking the number 11 shirt if I was him either! Edited by MonsterMunch (24 Jul 2023 10.36am)

Very well put and I agree entirely. If he does arrive, I'd certainly get behind him and hope for the best of Gray regardless of any background noise. If we were to get that he'd be a very good buy indeed.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

You are wrong, do you think Olise is the only decent left footed right winger in the world, he is a top player, but if he has a release clause, and wants to leave, what do you do, lock him in a cupboard? Did I ever say we can keep him against his will? I am saying he won’t be replaced easily and certainly not like for like. The sort of tripe we are looking at is Demarai Gray.

If Olise does have a £35m release clause the muppet who agreed to that should be made to pay the difference between that and £50m. Our squad was looking thread bare before wilf and now this! We need some decent incomings fast.

I would suggest we have seldom seen Schlupp on our wings, despite not a wealth of options, as he is not seen as a suitable or consistent enough player to fill that role. I'm a big fan of the Jeffrey, but saying he is better than Gray strikes me as odd and a somewhat unexpected comment.

My point being that I am not a fan of Schlupp but do think he is a useful squad player but not a starter. Why are we signing players who are no better than our current crop of weakest players?
