As I have said before -the problem is not whether the “billionaire” Americans or any other exceptionally wealthy investors want to part with their money-the fact is that SP has a reported 20% shareholding and draws minimum £3.5million out each year. If the club wanted to build the stand/have a reasonable transfer budget it would cost SP 20% of the outlay-which he seems to have studiously avoided/probably can’t afford. Major shareholders should be either like minded or at least have similar wealth to work together properly. We have a Mini mixed with Rolls Royces finance wise so big outlays ain’t going to happen until SP sells his shares. He has been brilliant at money making for himself-and keeping Palace up 10 years etc by spinning plates -but dont forget he chose and brought the Americans in ,and until they agree to invest without SP putting in his percentage there will be no big transfer budget or new stand. This is most unlikely however if they want a big return on their investment and no relegation they may have to-and its possibly not beyond SP’s financial skills to get them to do so! I'm interested to hear where you got that £3.5m figure from. It's 4 times the figure that I saw reported a few months ago. SP continues to be the equivalent of a CEO with the agreement of the other shareholders. The alternative is to hire someone for that position. Brighton hired Paul Barber and are paying him over £2m which includes a performance related bonus.

I can’t see why Parishes 20% if that’s what it is , should determine what he takes as a salary . CEO he has to run this ship, £2 million, £ 3.5 milllon Pa the guy is the boss everything lands at his door. The players expect millions for their bit, why on earth shouldn’t Parish? Whatever the figure as far as we know some of his players earn more than him

That article is a month old and is full of words like "possibly" and "maybe" so it's all just guesswork

Also (and how true this is I don't know) Parish allegedly takes money out and then reinvests it (or most of it) in the club and gains some tax advantage from doing so. It is true as it's clearly stated in the company's accounts. If he or the club gain any tax advantage I have no idea what it is as my understanding is that the opposite is true and he re-invests the money after tax

We should be aiming for what Brentford and Fulham done this season. The thing is they have young ambitious managers Silva and Frank. If we give Roy another year we cant plan for the future as we will be looking for another manager this time next year. SP must appoint a younger manager and recruit well.

That is partly the point I’m trying to make. We should have been doing that ages ago then competing like teams like West Ham. Yet we are always competing with the teams in the very bottom half. We wont do any of what you have said. Parish just wants safety and ticket money. Couldn’t give a f*** about progress. He will make excuses and justify it as his a great PR man. A real shame as we can compete in the top 8 and above if we put our minds to it and invested in it. Edited by EagleAlan78 (21 Jun 2023 9.50pm) Edited by EagleAlan78 (21 Jun 2023 9.51pm)

Forget all this ageism tripe. There is no better option out there, not Potter or Cooper or anyone who doesn’t have Prem experience. Roy should get a 2 year deal and €25m plus funds from sale of Mateta (maybe 10m) to sign a decent striker. If we keep Wilf plus all the top players that the media are suggesting are targets for other clubs, then we can finish 8th. By the way I don’t get peoples’s obsession with a new RB when Ward finished the season in great form and Richards could play there if we were stuck. I would imagine Roy is waiting to see our ambition before committing himself.
