A former Australian prime minister has mounted a scathing attack on Britain, saying Australia’s oldest ally suffers from “delusions of grandeur and relevance deprivation”. Paul Keating, who left office in 1996, said the UK was led by a “disreputable government” and labelled Liz Truss, the foreign secretary, as “demented”. There is nothing like constructive criticism, is there?

Would that be the same Paul Keating formerly known as "The Lizard of Oz". I am shocked, loud mouth opinionated Aussie doesn't like Brits. Edited by Badger11 (25 Jan 2022 2.50pm)

Wow, Cressie has woken up- thought she was in an induced coma for the last 2 months! Likely a calculation to buy time and kick the Sue Grey report into the long grass. Or if people prefer, a very, very convenient coincidence. Edited by BlueJay (25 Jan 2022 2.57pm)

Tories have completely lost it. Tory begs MPs to stop attacking Boris Johnson because it's 'making Putin stronger'. He is not alone, Tory MPs actually think Putin is benefitting from tory lockdown parties. If they get bundled out as they should (but won't) they will blame it on Putin. It's quite incredible.

Bungle now been named as the front man on getting the animals out on a plane from Afghanistan in front of humans, fair play for doing it, but he twice denied it- lying from a leader is not good!

This one is for Steeleye and Croydon Proud The government is now backing down on MP's being restricted from second jobs. No surprise there, straight out of the Sir Humphry play book, agree until the heat and attention is off and then quietly drop it.

It's been said many times. I fully concur that this government is incompetent. However, compared to their opposition they are stunningly impressive.
